I will keep my eyes open , I am working in central London !

Aaaarrrrrrgggg! Wilmington keep my eyes open.

I don't live too far from you can you tell us how it was secured? There might me some tips for us all.

Wish you luck getting it back.

Bloody hell, not another one :(

Hope you get it back OK..

Quick

Get Charlie Boorman on the case.

Thanks for all your replies. Alarmed, immobilised, chained (although not to anything - there's nothing to chain it to...yes, I know, so don't mock) and I still have all the keys.

Sorry to hear about the theft. Did you have any security on it?

Have a look on internet auction sites, they may break it and sell it as parts.:barf

B**tards, had my Tiger niked last October thats how I got my GS (every cloud and all that) I commute through town every day I'll keep my eye out, anything distinctive ?, as no doubt the reg will have been changed.

Sorry to hear that. Will keep an eye out.

Does it have any distinctive markings/badges etc if so put a piccy up :nenau

Sorry to hear you've had yer bike nicked.

And I'm afraid to say I'd bet my mortgage that you'll never see it again on the road. It'll most likely be broken for parts.

I know of two GS's in S/W london that have gone recently. Both recovered not far from where they disappeared.
Parked up on the road for a few days in case they have trackers fitted.

Yes, fair point - quite often the way with luxury cars too, park em up and come back three or four days later ...

Trackers are far more common in cars than bikes though. Bloody expensive too. You pay tracker an annual fee (on top of your insurance obviously) of something like 2 - 3 hundred quid iirc .... :eek (probably worth it on a 40k plus luxury car ...). :thumb2

They parked up a very nice FireBlade behind my humble drum.

A very nice security chain on it.... but with a crappy padlock, which the thieves had just snipped through.

I still have the chain.

Although I live in London my bike stays in the safe haven of Northamptonshire, insurance would have jumped from £350 to £2.5k

I often walk back from work, so will check out the reg's of any GS's I see :thumb2

I have a tracker on my bike that i built my self, not bullet proof, but to find its exact location all i need to do is send my bike a txt message and I will get
a) a reply SMS with lat/lon and how long ago (in seconds) it last changed
b) will force an upload to my server which stores the location every 5mins (when ingnition is on) anyways, its just a way of forcing an update rather than waiting 5 mins.

All hidden where no one would think to look - only issue is, because is home made, it doesnt do anything (good or bad) for the insurance. But I didnt build it as an anti-theft device.

If anyone is interested in this I can come up with a price and let you know (off top of my head tracker would be < £150, and then all you need is a mobile SIM, any kind, i have a o2 prepay with unlimited txt bolt on)

I think they recommended giffgaff sims ...cos they don't expire or something like that
