My brakes locked today on a freeway, I was able to pull over safetly I released some oil from the bleeder valve. It was allright for 10Kilometres and then locked again. I repeated the process once again it was allright for about the same distance. Repeated pcess and made it 15 kilometres to home. How do I fix this.??It is still under waranty so I am thinking of taking it back to the dealer but it is 50 ks away most of it on freeway so I am a bit dubious.

Thanking you.

Get the dealer to recover it by trailer. It's obviously far too dangerous to ride.

Warranty job all the way.

Cheers,
Delirious.

Sounds to me that the front brake lever is fouling on the hand guard.....

this will drag the brake slightly, and it will lock on when it gets hot.

I suggest checking that the hand gusard isnt fouling the lever, and is releasing fully. If it isnt this, then recovery to dealers sounds best.

Good luck

Bub

Thanking you Bub thats exactly what it was.. Saved me the tow to the dealer.to be told it wasnot covered by warranty. I imagine i would have picked up the tab for the towing. If ever I get back to the old Blighty..I owe you a pint or two.:beer:

BMW sent out some stickers to all GS owners in the UK about this a few months back. Perhaps not in Australia?

No! they did not. Should write them a letter stating that. However, it is nothing new out here we are often behind the times, just donot quote me on that.
