My KTM 950 SE

PDiddy

agree I need a screen and a Road Book mount, but ~£700 is too rich for my blood. I'll get a 690 screen and go down to my dad's and help him (watch and make coffee) fab me up something to go on the bars for the RB.

cheers

Fit some panniers and keep the bm for touring :D

i have a twin cam 1200 rt for touring .the hp2 was built for off road unfurtunatley for me the k t m is better in the tighter stuff than the bm ,so i have to make it up ealsewhere !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Moly - I took my KTM 990 R off road at the weekend - OMG - What an awesome bike - it did everything my 640 used to do and more - Power slides at 70+mph - easy ;-)

Stuie does not want me to run in the twin class in the Big Bike Rally Challenge - ha ha ha

yes i thought it would be much better than the hp2 i just like the bm i know its a dissadvantage to ride ,and i will have my hands full with you guys on ktms ,but i like a challenge and it will probably give me something to aim at ,
i have allways risen to a challenge this seems like a good one. mm
N B the bm power slides 100 m p h plus !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just thought i would update my SE build, This is the bike right now :thumb

First of up front i have fitted an 2011 690 Enduro front mudguard, I had to chop 3cm off the rear and drill some hole's to aid the cooling but it give a lot more protection up front. At the minute i have a Trelleborg Army special fitted for road work and green laning.

Next up i have fitted some 2" Rox Risers and a G2 throttle tamer to calm the beast slightly.

At the back I fitted a Camel Toe rear rack, This was originally intended to fit a KTM Adventure but it fitted with some modification :augie I will most likely take this off when i'm doing the Rally's its more for weekend camping trips.

I also got hold of some pannier racks for the 950 SM again with some modification i got them to fit, I fitted them more for exhaust protection than for panniers. I would like to fit the pannier rack off the Adventure when i can get one at the right price

One thing i have noticed is that the GIT sump guard does a very good job of protecting the side stand mounting which is one of the not so good things on the SE and i have refitted the 17 tooth front sprocket.

I have just ordered a new screen more like a rally screen i hope and a Dunlop 908rr rear tyre as the SE kills a proper enduro tyre in minutes on the road

I hope you made sure the bar securing bolts were done up nice & tight; you wouldn't want them loosening off now, would you?:augie:D

Bike's looking good.:thumb2

Looking good, and great timing - I'm after some risers so nice to see some Rox's in action. Where did you get yours from, and I guess they are the 1 1/8 -> 1 1/8 ones?

If you think about selling your 690 screen after you get your new one give me a shout (markie underscore wales at hotmail dot com).

Im plsnning on doing all of the rallys this year on my SE.

Not seen an Orange 30l tank before - I quite like that. I was planning on getting a black one next month (small, non banker sized bonus :) ) but might have to think again. How many miles to you get until the light comes on, and what does it then take to fill (i.e.e what''s the reserve on them)?

cheers

It's 30L so that gives you a range of about 250miles

the reserve, like the standard tank it depends what you do, if you keep the right hand fuel cock closed then your reserve can be what ever is in the side of the tank. I've never measured it.

TBH its a hell of a big tank, I fitted it and rode the Ryedale rally on a full tank, yes it lasted me all day with plenty to pare but it was heavy.

I took the tank off afterwards.

My Se if for offroad riding only and fitting the large tank defeats the object of that.

up for sale if you want it (the tank not the bike)

might be interested - drop me a mail to markie underscore wales at hotmail dot com with how much you want.

cheers

Ref tank endurance,I took my SE on the Gathering of the Clans 2009.

I did 2000 miles in 6 days.

I only once saw the reserve light come on and I was usually filling up at around 280 miles,so i would say an easy 300 miles with reserve, onroad at least.

I like the Orange tank but I think it would look better with black tank panels.

Are black tank panels available?
