Feel for you there, did the same thing to mine playing rugby. I played prop and the second row behind me swore he heard it go

Hurt like feck, especially when I collapsed and most of the rest of the scrum also landed on me, one bloke fell on the affected area!! Apparently ( I can't remember as my mind has blocked it out), I screamed like a girl!!

One thing though, I did as the surgeon said, rest, physio etc and it healed fast and touchwood, I've had no probs since.

How long do you thing it will take? The hospital say 6 weeks in plaster + 6 weeks of silly high heal shoes + 6 months of physio Does that sound right? Seems a long time.

Well...

I twanged my ACL on my Morocco jaunt in '06, it took the best part of 4 years to get full flexion back in the knee...

Two years ago I sprained my ankle - nothing dramatic - it took over 6 months to 'go away'

If you've completely ruptured the tendon I fear that you're in for a few months of aching and psychosadomasophysio ...

I think everyones different with injury recovery times main thing is as Big Si said Listen to them they have seen it all before!

A quick update in this wonderful biking weather. They operated on me on 26-April to reattach the two ends of my tendon. I was in plaster for 6 weeks and have spent the last two weeks learning to walk again. I go to physio every week and my progress is one of the fastest they have seen. Last weekend I rode my "push bike" for the first time since April. There is no way I could ride my 800GS, the weight would just rip my tendon apart again. So it sits in my garage just waiting :-( I was meant to ride around the Black Sea this year.. Croatia, Turkey and Russia, etc.

I will be lucky if I manage to ride my F800GS at all this summer

All because I lifted my F800GS the wrong way.
