My new 1250 rallye BROKEDOWN

I genuinely don’t know the answer to this but do Bmw have higher warranty numbers in ratio to bikes sold than most ? Or do they just honour stuff others don’t even when out of official warranty times.

I know when I had corrosion in my Ducati engine where it gets peppered by stones the dealer just laughed when I posed the question of warranty doing something about it.

Have a read. The financials will give you an idea. Mostly cars but you get the idea. Have a look at their financial statement.

I would 'maybe' buy a new R1250GS Adventure in the future... but only once it's been Beta Tested for a couple of years, so I had a real-life risk assessment of what I was getting myself into.

Until that point, I'll stick with the GLR1200GSA and Africa Twin. Both nice bikes.

It’s always quiet in there, as there are a fraction of issues compared to BMW. ;)

Just finished washing it ,started up and no error message and all working as it should? I hate faults like this I can imagine what the dealers going to say " can't find anything wrong with it sir" ! :blast
 
a Self healing bmw ? Nah no one would fall for an ecu that has something undetectable and invisible in it would they ? ;)
 
Test rode a ktm 1290 variant twice and been totally underwhelmed, no petrol station double take too, (IMO) fucking ugly black plastic and orange things, or those hideous bulbous white versions that you have to give away....take my chance with a bmw breakdown, although in 8 years and 30 odd k miles not a sniff of a problem. Still the best.:P
