My new Arai Tour X3

My head must be the same Arai shape as Keith B... (similar haircut too). I'm 6'4" and on the GSA use the screen on the highest setting with a Wunderlich extension on the lowest setting. With the seat on the highest setting I basically never have the visor down unless its teeming with rain.
I find it fairly quiet, no earplugs.
But - when out on the R1100R the Tour X3 was incredibly loud and I didn't have earplugs the first time out. Yes - look a twat on that bike with that helmet perhaps.

It's all down to where that air's going it would appear.

Over priced and over rated ,if your concerned with safety look at the sharp tests , some of the top brands are rated very low on safety but look nice

Silly boy, safety dosen't come into it, it's about how you look doncha know :aidan

Which market do you think this colour scheme is aimed at? :D

Looking at the Tour X4 in Milan the only difference appears to to the vent system and the inclusion of a pin-lock visor as standard

Been having a look on line for a different lid to my shoei , had it 3 years so time to change. Fancy a change of type too but reading about the Arai tour x3 ,looks like a waste .
Looking at the shoei hornet, multitec, Roof boxer just for a change. Roof apparently lets in rain ?
Any one got one of these, may be an idea if we had a review section where folk have a piece of kit and can give an honest opinion of how they rate them ( point of reference in one thread .)
Going touring rather than posing , so any one rate a lid on fitting speakers/ ear buds, comfort for example.
Understand this is a very subjective issue due to head shape etc, but if a lid is generally rubbish may be a review section would help, not only with lids but other kit be it hoops to clothing.

I got the custom moulded/injected earplugs made at the bike show last year with the headphones built in.

No matter how well I fit them in my ears they seem to ground on the hard foam on the inside of the X3 and this seems transfers the low frequency buffering directly to my skull as a result they are way worse than not wearing them. I use normal ear plugs for now until i can find a fitted pair i get on with.
