My new toy

Hey newguy, she's coming along nicely........can't believe how quickly you're getting it done!
You're making me think about doing something similar with mine

Do it! Seeing it back together is extremely rewarding. Change the colours while you at it, it's like riding a brand new bike :)

Mmm, think I'll go for that seat design you got there, just replace the red with blue beading.

So I'm finally on the road and the bike is awesome. I could spend days in the saddle of this bike. The front brake upgrade is really good and worth every penny. Going Marlin/Tuna fishing this weekend so will only do a full ride next week. here some pics

Edit: I found that the brake hose from motorworks was way longer than the old one. Shortened the lower hose to compensate. hose keeps a good position in riding, so wont be putting a lower guide on for now.

Your front brake upgrade........ is that basically just a twin piston caliper or is there more to it?
Can I ask what it cost you and where did you get the bits from?

My front brake (standard setup) is very poor to say the least!!

Your bike is looking good, hope she rides well.

If you not put a keeper of some sort on the end of the rigid pipe, it will work-harden and crack/snap by the union, sooner or later.

Bought from Ebay US for $56 incl shipping. then took it down to a local engineering shop to have 3mm machined off the mountings. Then its a straight forward bolt on. If you do a search on the forum you will find plenty references to brake upgrades.

Yeah, sounds like a good idea. Will make something up.
