MyRoute Forums

I am very close to kicking MyRoute to the curb... It is slowly driving me insane. Latest one is it insists on trying to get me to go back to a waypoint I had to miss due to a road closure today despite having the Skip Waypoints Automatically checked. So I try to go to the MyRoute Forums to see if anyone has any clue on what the issue is and there's no search! I assume because it thinks I'm not logged in - I am, and every time I click on the Log In it just sends me back to the main MyRoute page - anybody have the same issue ?

Life is just way too short to deal with shit apps/software like this.

Shit didn’t realise you were out mate, I just got back.

I binned it years ago tbh.

All I do now is plot a series of villages or towns which chain link my route.

I find it way easier now.

But that's the point, it will NOT let me log onto the forums. When I go to the MyRoute website, I login and click on Forum. It takes me to the Forum page and it tells me I am not logged in. I click on the Login link top right and it just takes me back to the main MyRoute page. When I try to manually enter Forum.MyRouteApp.com/login, it, again just takes me to the main MyRouteApp web page.

So, because I can't login, I can't search so it makes the forum section unusable.

Damn. Nice day for a little ride - well apart from the fact the little cafe I was heading to was closed (wait, I'm sensing a pattern here...). Thankfully I found another close by (not McDonalds this time...)

I’m not sure how @casbar is accessing the page he’s shown in post #2.

But I agree, the search function in MRA community forum doesn’t produce the results I’d expect it to (either in iOS, or Windows )

I can't even get to the search function in the Forums because, I assume, it thinks I'm not logged in. Without the search function, the Forums are pretty much useless. I just submitted a ticket (and they emailed an acknowledgment) so I'll see what they say. Maybe...

It’s not intuitive. I went to the MRA website, logged in then used the menu to go to the forum, I was logged in when I got to the forum.

If you go to the forum, then log in, it takes you to the website where you can go back to the forum. That worked for me.

There’s a few things on skipping way points.

Apparently if you long press a way point it will skip all previous way points and the point you pressed becomes the start point, in case that helps

I'm using IOS on a Mac, go to MRA, log on, select the drop down from the menu and access the forum.

Depending on what type of waypoint you are using. If it is one of these which is sort of like a shaping point and you have automatic skipping enabled MyRoute will stop asking you to go back to it once you re join the route/or get closer to/ pass through the next waypoint in the direction of travel. If you keep waypoints close-ish together (MyRoute app recommends every 3 miles or so as a minimum auto skipping works well) . If the waypoints are further apart then it will nag to go back longer as you will be closer to the missed waypoint for longer before becoming closer to the next one (I hope that makes sense) If it is a via point like this then if you don't pass through it it will always have to be manually skipped even if you have automatically skip waypoints enabled. The logic is that you only use the Via waypoints for places you want to visit and the app will do its best to make sure you pass through them. This hand via point is a point for a photo rally so if you need to take a detour you would not want to miss it accidently.

Oh and as others have said no issue logging onto the forum or searching issues.

This is my 'view' ... and there's no magnifying/search icon
