I bought a set of throttle cables from Motorworks for my 2003 1150 GS:

CAA42255A lhs
CAA42255B rhs
CAA59690 main cable

I bought these last year and took them around the world with me as spares. (www.etribes.com/markstowe)

Today, i thought i would do a bit of preventative maintenance and replace the 52k mile old cables.

Everything was in place...just had to connect the throttle cable to the handle bar when i noticed this...the ends are not the same!! DOH.

(Incase the link does not work - http://www.etribes.com/index.php?q=ajax/view/photo/74225&height=500&width=550

So....when i call Motorworks on Monday....can someone identify what cable they sent me (the one at the top of the photo). Is it for an older 1150 GS?

(I have checked the Motorworks www and that does not help....)

Thanks
Mark

The picture shows the twist grip end of one cable- and the throttle body end of another -

need to see both ends of both cables to see what you have :nenau

I think that the top one should be called George and the bottom Mildred, let me know what you decide on :)

further information

OK....i think i need to explain the picture more. (or just wait until Monday to tell motorworks that they sent me the wrong cables)

The picture shows the twist grip end both of the old (bottom) and new (top) cable. This is proved by the both the other ends both having the plastic moulding that goes into the cable splitter box.

I could call them mildred and george....but having two parts called mildred and george sitting in my garage whilst unable to get the engine above idle does not sound like a good summer to me. Thanks anyway.

Thank you

Thanks beemer-biker - exactly the answer i was looking for!!! Also now means i don't have to take the splitter box apart again.....although, i have now got to shell out on another part!!!
