I have the Nav V and plugged it into my laptop the other day to run some updates, it said the memory is nearly full.

I'm right in thinking you can't add a Micro SD card to the Nav V ? I had a brief look around it and could see no card slot which is a bit disappointing on a unit costing this much

Yes you can

From memory (no pun intended) the card slot is in the battery compartment which on the Nav 5 has to be unscrewed BmW do provide a tool with the unit for this very purpose

Thanks redrick, Yes I did unscrew the cover and have a peek in there, I even pulled the battery out but couldn't see a card slot. But if you say there is one there I'll go back and take another look tonight.

I know for certain i have a card in mine !

Instructions on how to add a card are set out in the manual. The slot is tucked away on one side of the battery compartment, from memory

The only manual I got was some crappy quick start guide in every known language, it didn't show where the Micro SD card was, just how to install battery and switch it on basically. Very poor manual to come with something as complicated as this device, I've seen better, more in depth manuals with a toaster.

This might help
Think manual is in units memory. Connect to PC and search the Nav5

You can download the full Manual from the internet
. Others have posted the link on here, so a search should quickly find it

The location of the card's slot is indeed described on the first page of the paper book 'Quick start' manual that comes in the box.

Not much help I grant you if you've bought a secondhand device and the vendor did not include the manual.
