It can't be, Paul as it needs to have a speaker. You could use a Zumo 660 mount but you wouldn't get voice guidance or be able to use the GPS as a Bluetooth hub for your phone, unless you link it to a Bluetooth headset or speaker.

Considering the 660 fits the Nav V mount, I'd say yes it will fit..................... But, Does the Nav V have a built in speaker ?.................. Because the 660 does, but the mount does not.

So if it does fit (Which it will) You may not get spoken instructions.

Good luck.

Now that the all new Nav V from Garmin (the 590) is out, I see that the automotive mount for it has a built in speaker. So I am wondering if you can buy the £41 590 mount rather than the £70 Nav V mount?

*EDIT* It would appear it does - http://www.activegps.co.uk/garmin-zumo-590-automotive-mount.htm

Nooooo not the same I'm afraid :rob

The 660 (Nav IV) has it's own in built microphone and speaker.

The Nav V doesn't and so the car kit has a speaker built in :D

Yes exactly, the 660 has a built in speaker but the 590 does not. So the car mount for the 590 also has a built in speaker the same as the Nav V car mount.

The Nav mount is £70 from your local stealers compared to £41 for the 590 car mount and power lead. So I am trying to find out if the Nav V will work in the 590 mount.

I was quoted £81 from the dealer yesterday, so I would be interested in this too.

Any news on whether the cheaper mount will work?
If it does I'm thinking there may be a way to get a wired 3.5mm jack attached to the bike mount to allow easy connection to intercom, if I can work out the pinouts.

Having had the 660 and now the 590. The answer is no. The NAV V will fit into a 660 mount, but the new 590 mount is different, and the 660/NAV V will not fit.

I know this because I have the LC TE, and when I bought the 590, I hoped the unit would fit straight into the BMW supplied mount. It doesn't !

I had all this back in June when we had some American friends staying with us, i did all the UK SCOTLAND IRELAND routes only to find that the 660 car mount i was intending to use Worked. As the new NAV V did not come with a car mount, after fitting it in the 660 I found no audio as the 660GPS has a internal speaker but the NAV V does Not! So basically it cost me £95! for the Nav V car mount which has the little internal speaker in it. I think for the rip off price BMW should put the NAV V Car speaker in the box when you buy a NAV.
