nav v problem

completed an update and now the sat nav wont show B roads, just motorways & train tracks. have done complete reset, but still the same.
anyone else had this problem or heard of it?

Sounds like it just has the base maps

Have a look in settings >Maps > installed maps and see what is available / ticked as working and come back to us

Have you tried zooming in? Some detail won't show until you are showing a small area.

ye tried everything, 3 uploads of garmin express. Still same. I have left it back with dealer.

just some info.....do not update your nav v to new maps version as garmin has a problem with it. My dealer rang to say he has received over 4 sat navs back in with same problem as mine after updating from garmin express.

I was handed a 390 recently that had this problem. It had just been updated with the latest maps. When I looked the latest maps were there but not ticked. It could be as simple as that. Somehow the update had left the new maps unticked so the device was just using the base map.Why that should happen I don't know but a simple check might save embarrassment!

checked everything John, updated unit then flew out to collect bike in Munich to head for Alps when I noticed it. First night in hotel i updated again, same problem. Next day I left in to BMW motorrad garage in Italy who said they would do a 3 hr update overnight and collect next day. Did this still the same, few lad checked and everything ticked and same set up etc.
put it in top box and followed mate from there on.

I have 2017.1 - works OK.
Is there a later set or is Garmin Express messed up again..?

2017.2 is out. Still got several local pubs either missing or in the wrong place! Update worked fine on three computers here and on my 390 but we do have a reasonable (for the UK) broadband speed, took under 30 mins

I updated firmware and maps yesterday and had no issues.

Firmware is 3.20
Maps are full Europe coverage 2017.20

Been on firmware version 3.30 for quite a while now with no added problems. Still getting stuttering mp3's, but always have done, on two devices.

That's interesting when I did it a couple of days a go it said that 3.2 was the latest firmware????????

When you say it has not updated the maps is this on the nav and pc/mac or just the nav, i would presume if its the nav, you have an sd card in it, can you see the map on the card when viewing the device from your pc/mac it should be around the 4gb mark and will be named gmapsupp.img or similar, if it is indeed on the card you may be able to fix this easily.

Possible or perhaps different serial numbered devices need different a firmware due to small hardware changes? The 3.20 with 2017.20 seems to work ok.

Similar issues are being posted up on the adventurebikerider forum. It doesn't help, but it would appear you are not alone.

It says that they have fixed numerous mp3 problems. I have mp3 problems and have done for 2 years. I still have mp3 problems.

I also checked the link to the Garmin Support Download Section and can find nothing regarding update 3.20.

Hopefully they will come up with a new update soon (but don't forget, this is Garmin software we are talking about which is normally pants to be honest).
