Navigator iv Map Update

Hooked my new Nav 4 up to the Mac to register it, was informed Map updates are available (maps for life subscription included)
Did the download/update but now find Ive no POI info or address database
Initially had Speed Cam data too think Ive lost that.
Can I restore back to how I received it when purchased or have i messed up?
Wish I'd left well alone.

Free Life Time Up Date

Hi,
Off topic slightly. I bought and registered my BMW Nav 4 Oct 2012; then spent the winter out the country. I have tried to do the up-date but keep getting asked to pay for it! Garmin say the device does not have the Life Time Up date showing as available.
I did a big de-junk prior to leaving, so have no original disc.
Any idea what I did wrong? Bet there was a card that is now in a landfill site!
From you problems, it looks like all the personal add ons need to be saved and re-installed prior to up-date. Thanks for the warning.

Did another download of the 2013.41 map updates & everything now seems ok.
The Garmin Express software installed the update to the msd card but looks like it replaced the original maps (no mention of old map on map info screen.)
Got to say I think Garmin's web set up is terrible, one of their web pages states that the software for updating is PC only, however as soon as you press the download button, hey presto a Mac Version downloads.
