Is there a large on screen speedo in the options on the Nav V as I can't seem to find it :nenau

How big do you want it?

Settings

Scroll down

Push left / right pointy arrows to select dashboard to suit

Here you go, single window on the bike information section, great when on the move.

I can see it ! Easy.Plus it's as accurate as a GPS can be which is usually far more accurate than the bike speedo as I am sure you know.

Seriously, the analogue speedo is crap, with my tinted secondary visor down, I would really have to stare at it to read an accurate speed. If you are alluding to the fact that having a dashboard display can
also indicates your current speed, then yes that will work too albeit with a smaller display.

Personally, I like the 2 window display with speed and range that I can just glance at if necessary to get the information.

In any case, I was just answering the original question, something which with your expertise, you didn't do.

Or did you just not know about this feature ?

Hi guys. I am 100% sure that I had been into some settings or menu where I was able to enter certain info pertaining to fuel management and the like on the Navigator V. Today I can't find that menu or settings anywhere. Some help please?

View Map
Bottom right hand corner menu button
Scroll down to Fuel Settings
Voila !

The 'My bike' feature is not available on all bikes, capable of running and controlling a Nav V via the iWheel. I guess it's a software thing or because the information is available without the device.

But never mind, the fellow now has two answers to his original question, mine and yours. Mine prefaced with a question as to how large he would like the MPH displayed. As a bonus, we've found out why it's much better than the bike's own analogue display. As to whether the accuracy of a GPS device over a vehicle's own speedometer is vital to life in the 21st century, is a moot point. I can though say with absolute certainty that it's not troubled me that much.

Me? I can read my analogue display quite easily. It does though beg the question as to what you'd have done if the nice people at Garmin / BMW had not built the big 'current speed' feature into the Nav V? Sell your bike, get glasses or collect speeding tickets, I guess.

I didn't say that I could not read the analogue speedo, just that it is more difficult, especially when "tramping" on down some nice roads. The speed readout on the Nav 5 is just below my sight line and is therefore much easier to glance and take in the information. The feature is there so I choose to use it. If it wasn't then I would use the alternatives.

As to accurate speed, I have many times found it quite useful in average speed camera zones, when many other drivers are actually doing less than the permitted 50 mph or whatever and I can maintain a slightly faster speed allowing me to make a bit more progress and stay within the law. Obviously, most average speed cameras are front facing so one could argue that bikers could go faster than the posted limit with impunity.

Do you have the wizzy wheel on your bike and do you make use of any of it's features ? If yes, then which do you find useful or not.

Just downloaded the new maps on my nav 5 and it seems to have taken all the memory ... I guess it's not overwritten the old maps installed from new ? Can anybody point me in the right direction ?
