neck braces

Has anyone tried the BMW neck brace??? or the Sainese Neck 6 ?? I have a dodgy neck after a car crash in 2000 , newish to biking (on a GS), want to get some neck protection. Is it viable on road??? Any opinions appreciated. Cheers Growlerman

It was developed for use by their riders in the Dakar.

Not sure how suitable it is for onroad riding.

I guess it boils down to whether or not you can do a 'lifesaver' with one on.

If you can then they're a good idea, if you've got the dosh. If not then I wouldn't touch one with a barge pole for road riding.
