Sorry but a bit late to this thread ... get the Altbergs and don't waste your money on anything else .. I have had a pair for years .. more than 12 ... brilliant all round boot .. and when the soles wore out I sent them back for a "refurb" .. new soles, new Gortex liners, new patches of velcro and new toe patches .. all for £75 with a 4 week turn around... honestly mate they are the best.
Thanks guys. The added expense and time of going to Yorkshire for the Altbergs is probably going to push me towards the Daytona's which is a pity as the Altbergs are about £100 cheaper.
Altberg frequently hold fitting clinics around the country. It may be worth emailing them to find if there is one planned in your area. Don't forget to sign up to their e-membership scheme as it will give you a good discount if you purchase. After having mine for nearly two years I don't think I'b buy any others.
I kept my first pair of Daytona roadstars for 6 years never let in a drop of water, warm in winter, cool enough in summer, replaced with the same, very comfortable on and off the bike and I use Roc stomp footrests and have driven up to 700 kms in a day. you will never want to wear anything else.

Altberg do the Roadrunner ex-stock, medium width in half sizes from their website, meaning they're not necessarily made to measure. They also will accept returns/replacements on ex-stock items if you mail order and find out you've got the wrong size or don't like the fit as long as they're in a condition ready to go back on the shelf.
I got Daytona Gator TCX Which are a HG Exclusive I think, great boot's, gore-tex lined and I got 20% off without much haggling and with a "Gift Card" from a previous purchase, brought them below £200.
In the market for a pair of new boots - the 5 year old bmw pro tourers have finally succumbed to the gear change wearing a hole thru the leather and dampness getting in more generally during down pours.
I was thinking of Daytona road stars though they're a bit pricey. Any one had any experience of these or recomendations for any other makes? Had a browse thru the Alt berg web site and liked the look of the new roadrunners but where can I look at these in the South East?
Hein Gerike Ralleye are great - on my second pair, Goretex so don't get wet feet - and most importantly they are comfortable from day one for walking around in as well as on the bike.
Another thumbs up for Roadstars, I've had mine 5 years and still going strong. Stitching, leather and reflective panels all,in excellent condition. The Zipsmare also very durable and as good as new. Defo worth the money in my opinion, bite the bullet, you will not be disappointed.
