Needle Sweep

Let's face it - if they sweep it just looks cool.

It says I'm in charge of a powerful machine that's ready to race ;-)

..............I don't need a sweep of the needles to tell me if the speedo is working, or not; I'll soon know once I ride away.

But you won't know if it's accurate, or at least as accurate as it should be, because it hasn't run its self calibration test at start up. This could be your licence that you are playing with. Worse still it could be your livelihood. The judge will have no sympathy when he sends you down as he'll know that it's specified you should get the instruments checked out if they don't perform the self test described in the manufacturers documentation. Bang to rights squire.

This is all far too scary for me. I think I'll stick to the bicycle.

I agree.....it sounds cool and I was disappointed a little as well.....but I won't lose sleep..
