netural engine cut out

Has anyone bypassed the ignition cut out when the bike is not in Netural.

I want to be able to start the bike in gear if necessary. I am hopless with wiring diagrams and I cant seem to locate the right place disconnect it

I just by-passed my clutch switch on my 1100 by cutting the wires and joining them both as the switch was knackered anyway, the non destructive method would be to follow the wire from the clutch switch to its connector then short the connector (my favourite for this is a bit of speaker wire with the plastic insulation removed)

You should be able to start it when in gear and the clutch lever pulled in anyway.

Can`t imagine why you`d want to start it in gear without the clutch lever pulled in.

If the thing will not start with the clutch pulled in then your clutch switch is either stuck, knackered or out of adjustment, mine was knackered so I just cut the wires near the switch, and joined them as described above.

Right then at the risk of sounding like a complete knob, I am confused here, clutch in or clutch out makes no difference my bike will only start in neutral. Not only that you can be in neutral but unless the neutral light comes on it wont start, soon as neutral light on it starts fine.
I was so confused just went out to check, the starter will not run in any gear, clutch in or out, will only fire when in neutral.
A clutch cut out is fine simply a case of pulling the clutch in and hit the starter, but on the odd occasion you stall then trying to find neutral is a bind and I have a feeling the indicator switch is a bit duff as light sometimes takes a while to come on and the bike will not start without the green neutral light on.

ps, just went out to check wifes GS and hers is different, so long as clutch is pulled in will start in any gear just fine.

Ever tried to start a bike with a broken clutch cable, put in gear and hit the starter you generally get enough momentum to get you going, works a treat.

Mind you on that Russian heap of yours nevers go far enough to worry, Mobile Phone and AA card the essential tool kit for the Russian motorcycle owner !!!

You want to ride along, powered solely by the starter motor?

Starter motors are not designed to run for long periods, neither are they designed to drive a bike. You will kill your starter if you make a habit of this, not to mention your battery too, I expect.

if the cable goes, just hold the lever back an bump it, and put a good clutch switch back on?

As previously stated your clutch switch is either sticking, out of adjustment or knackered.

thanks very much, simply application of little bit of solder and all fixed.
Thats what comes of looking to deeply for a more complicated reason, doh!!!

If you're that worried about your clutch cable breaking, fit a spare running alongside it
