I know it's supposed to be between 2 and 1 but sometimes my bike will happily skip between the two with nary a neutral to be seen. Is this a common 1250 issue?

I get this from time to time. It'll work fine most of the time, it'll go a few weeks without any issues then, out of the blue, suddenly no way can I select it, going up and down the gear box several times before I find it. Sometimes I get so frustrated I'll just switch it off , leaving it in gear. When I return it is generally fine for a few weeks again.

I always found on my 1200 that it was easiest to snick into neutral just before you stop to avoid the up down game

It's a shame that all manufacturers don't have the positive neutral finder like Kawasaki do, it's simple but brilliant :nod

Same here

I find rolling the bike/forward or backward helps (just a foot or so) then attempt neutral

I like the neutral game, tap dancing on the floor going up or down the gears finding it...and then isn’t it typical that you’re hooning around and that sucker drops into neutral just when you don’t need it.

I guess it’s called ‘character’ and I like that

Ha…thought it was just me.

Same as others, it’s usually ok, but most often harder when going from 2nd and trying for neutral.

Never had an issue with my 1200GS hexhead, but had 10k in it when I got it. I keep assuring myself it’ll settle down when it’s bedded in more.

I've owned my bike 4 years and i think I've only missed neutral once?
thanks for making me feel like my bikes special 😁
