first of all hello to every one
i have just ordered a new r1200gs with my nearest bmw dealer
the worry i have at the moment is that, i part exed my 2 year old suzuki
still under manufactures warranty. plus a £250.0 deposit given over the phone.
The dealer asked for my bike straight away, which i give him bmw dealer no worries ? even though i wont pick up the new one until the 1st sept
The worry is he has given me no paperwork what so ever nothing to say he has mine apart from the sorn, and nothing to say what i have ordered of him
not even a receipt for the £250.0
He says he is waiting for the finance manager to complete a buy back form.
is this the norm.
other than this i cant wait till i pick it up on the 1st (hopefully):nenau

I for one find this most unusual. In my experience of many Part Exchange Deals over the years it has been the normal practice for the Dealer and Yourself to agree the "Deal". You then pay an agreed Deposit for them to order your Bike. You then ride your Bike home, returning at the agreed Delivery Date with your Bike (the part Ex) and the Balance of Payment. Then the actual "exchange" takes place. All I can think of is mayby the Dealer had someone already lined up for your Suzuki and did not want to lose that Sale.

Further to the above and to give some peace of mind I have done "Deals "with both of the N.E. BMW Dealers and both have been fine so I can,t see anything to be worried about. Give them a ring voicing your concerns and I,m sure all will be explained.

yes your probably right worrying to much
the sales guy iam dealing with has been a great help and given some good advice.
The hands on the clock are just going far to slow at the moment.
Having to satisfy myself with trawling through the forumns sussing out engine bars and panniers :) thanks for the reply
