Hello all, I'm a new 1250 gs owner and new to this forum.

My 2019 gs had only 1900 miles on the clock when I bought it, so I'm planning to keep it for a while, and carry out my own servicing.

With this in mind, I will be grateful for recommendations of a diagnostics package for fault finding and service indicator reset etc

Thanks

Welcome Gary, most users say the GS911 diagnostic tool is the best but its not cheap, around £275 for a USB one or £350 for the wifi one which you can take away with you and use on trips etc. This is for the enthusiast version which allows up to ten different bikes to be linked to it, I think that may now be expandable for an annual subscription. There is a cheaper option but I cant remember its name but it is quite limited in comparison. No doubt others will comment with their views and opinions. Enjoy the bike, I'm sure you wont be disappointed with it.

Hi Gary,
The Motoscan app will do all the above but will not work with Apple, only Android.
You need the App installed, a `dongle`/interface (UniCarScan UCSI-2100 Bluetooth Interface about £50) and a phone.

Hello and welcome Gary-G, there’s plenty of knowledge on here and a fair smattering of folk down there near you (around Pompey).

Enjoy the bike

Thanks folks.

I'm looking forward to putting some miles on the BMW when the weather improves.

I also have a Ducati, but the BM is sooo much easier to ride, especially with the Mrs on the back....

Hi Garry and welcome onboard! Apart from what Hann suggests I highly recommend upgrading the OEM battery to the Motobatt MHTX16 Hybrid LithiumAGM. Enjoy the ride!

Why? My 23 now covered 16k has it's original battery bike also has a tracker fitted, no problems what so every.

Quite a well known issue, might have been sorted on newer 1250's? My {2021) battery let me down even though I kept the bike on a battery tender and had done at least 100 miles on that particular occasion. Was starting perfect, stopped for fuel, then no start. Globetrotter is quite right to reccomend a newer battery.
