New 1250 GSA - trigger pulled!

After a few demos on all versions of the 1300 in std/GSA/ASA forms and then a demo on a 1250 I decided to opt for one of the last remaining 1250 Trophys available.

After the demo on the 1250 I just felt it had a charm and character which suits my needs better. The 1300 is a great bike but not for me at this stage.

Anyway, here it is and farkles are being added already - SC Project, Touratech etc.

I did exactly the same. Moving on from my 2015 1200GSA, It tried the 1300GSA, had it for a good few hours. It's a really nice bike but it just didn't grab me at all. I too managed to bag a Trophy with gold wheels :D

Nice one ☝️
Health to ride!
What didn’t you like about the 1300 out of curiosity?

Unluckily & the same as mine you have the dreaded Anakees. Mine are >6k now and next week get replaced with some Continental Trail Attack 3s.

Nice bike!

What's wrong with the Anakees? I have the Battlax on mine and they're noisy so when I'm due a change I'll be swapping. I only ride on tarmac though.

I’ve never had the Anakee wilds. My manual and DCT Crosstourers, GS and GSA were all supplied with Bridgestone A41s which I don’t particularly like. As it seemed I’m the only person on the planet who liked the Anakee 3s I’d have been glad to give the wilds a go just for a change.

I've had 2 new 1250's (GS & GSA) both of which came with Anakees.

What's wrong with them for me is the noise from the front in particular & a general lack of feel - especially in the wet.

I've done 6k on this set and haven't fallen off or had any nasty moments courtesy of the Anakees, so you could argue they're fine which they are if that's a measure. However once changed to Pilot Roads on the GS & hopefully the same for the GSA on TA 3, the bike felt a lot better handling wise & were much quieter.

Fitted TA3s to my previous GS and happy with them but temped to try the new Anakee Roads when the time comes to change.

I couldn't get used to that auto height thing. I only had the bike for a few hours. I suppose had I bought one it would have grown on me. I reallydidn't like the looks either, I love the aggressive look of the 1200/1250GSA, definitely a bike you turn around to look back at

Maybe in a couple of years when all the recalls are done I'll give it another look

Nice looking machine. I was tempted by the 1300 but after riding one at Williams, I feel my 1250 feels more like a proper BMW.

I’m ditto to many of you on this subject. This time last year I contemplated long and hard whether to keep my 2020 GSA Rallye and wait for the 1300GSA later in the year. I split the difference and decided to go for one of the last 2024 1250 GSA’s and let the 1300 come out and receive its tweaks and facelifts, going forwards. So far, I’m not regretting my decision at all. This latest GSA has a much quieter engine than my 2020 one had, plus the added bonus of 5 heated grip settings, heated seats (didn’t know I needed one - but obviously do now) and a self levelling headlight. In the meantime, I’ll still keep an eye on how the 1300GSA comes along… just the tappety engine alone is enough to put me off, though.

If the two recent emails from Bahnstormer are anything to go by the 1250 is still in demand - they are particularly keen to buy good gs and gsa from 2015 onwards..
Sales of the 13 maybe not what they were expecting?

My thoughts exactly. I just feel the 1300 will be an amazing bike as it does everything that little bit better. BUT the 1250 is so sorted why would I wait another year to pay more AND have to figure it all out and wait for all the upgrades and aftermarket gear, YouTube videos on "how to" and like you stated the inevitable upgrades due to 1st gen issues.

Like you, I will most likely get one eventually, probably just before full petrol engines are completely banned. If you work on a ten year manufacturer cycle of the engine, prob mid 2030's. Will look good next to my inevitable electric/hydrogen car in the drive.
