Today was supposed to be an exciting new bike day. However at the dealer I was told no new GS's are allowed to leave the showroom's because of a sticker peeling off! See attached picture. Totally ruined my day

My thoughts exactly. It was ok the ride with dodgy forks until your next service but not with a peeling sticker.

tell them to keep it for good - i am sure a solution will appear today !

Its now in the hands of the dealer and BMW, how are they going to resolve this ? I will report back.

For info if anyone is thinking of picking up a new GS this week......don't bother

I'm assuming this is a wind up? :nenau

It has to be. :augie

You would think so but its not. They have not put a sticker the size of your thumb nail on the frame correctly.

They are now looking for a solution to the problem!!!!!!!!!!!
What could it be ???.?????

Until then no new bikes can be handed over to customers.

Oh and customer services won't answer the phone.

Turn up with a roll of sellotape, or some clear helicopter tape. If they still refuse to let you take the bike, tell them to shove it and go and buy a proper bike. :P

Have you tried the telling them to stick the bike up their arse and you want your money back unless you stop acting like a bunch of cnuts trick yet? If you don't go down this route ;) and you eventually get to pick it up make a big play of ripping the sticker off and sticking it on the glass entrance doors before you go.

If this isn't April 1st and isn't a wind up then FFS the world finally has REALLY gone bloody mad. :blast

Are stickers peeling off all the bikes or just the one on yours ?
If so, why are they not allowing any bikes out ?
Perhaps these are a newly designed sticker which is supposed to peel in unison with the paint ?

If you haven't got any helicopter tape, take plain :aidan

I so wish I had been in the OP's place today. I'm so in the mood (after dealing with a shit'ead customer) for a f*ckin' ruck with someone like the BMW representative that thinks he was going to stop me leaving with my new bike because a f*ckin' sticker was falling off it!

That doesn't look like a brand new bike to me as it appears to have the fork top mod bushes fitted which a new bike wouldn't have :augie

It doesn't have the gold bushes that were fitted after the factory. It has Black rubber collars, new design.

Blimey you lot like to make a crisis out of a minor drama.

I believe it’s against the emissions regs to sell a new vehicle without an emissions standard label. Which is likely why they can’t let it leave as is. it will be off 2 miles down the road

So why not find a solution like clear tape to keep the world turning ?
