I thought it was mine for a min but it had 14000 on the clock, from AJ's I presume ?

Well, its all good, and the shocks are great over the manual ones on my last bike... appears to go the same as the old one also ;)
just one complaint... RHS cylinder does a lot of tapping on acceletation... LHS is okay... they did a small service so will not of checked the clearances... ?... will have to get them to have a look :)

Seems you are having a nice time for once, another month and you will have it in bits, just save a bit of cash for the AF................I say no more yet

:nenau.....i must be one of the few that buys a new 1250 TE and part of the deal is to remove the "sat nav" hideous black cradle so i can see the wonderful TFT screen.

AF?... got to say, it goes easy as well as my old one, if not a bit better.. So you could be right on the HT thing!!... Just been out again.. RHS sounds like a machine gun!... go to have a look at that!! ;)

So, after 5 days with me and 400 or so miles, the bike is back at the dealers.

just pushed over 8K miles and the RHS cam is shot!... what do they make them out of these days FFS....

So I'm getting new cams (what do they check on selling a used bike and the 200 point check or what ever it is,, should this not cover if the engines buggered or not?).. but whats happened to all them small bits of metal thats come off the old cams?... are these getting in bearing around the engine and messing them up longer term?

They are also sorting the alarm that triggers after moving the bike for 5 mins, and the fact its had to get neutral?

not the best of starts then....

At least it is not you taking it to bits, good thing warranty is....

but what do they check on the post sale inspection?.. nothing.. and they sent me a video saying the oil is over filled!.. they serviced it last week !!

They should be better than this.. how long have they had cam issues now with the GS? its a bad batch... what, one that was bought in 2013 and they are still using on the 2017 models LOL

Service bloke gave me a lift to the station and I was asking how much warranty work they had in right now. With the exception of 1 service, all the other 7 bays were filled with warranty work!... Don't BMW get it.. spend £500 more on better bits and save a fortune of fixing the things... Useless!

Not sure if BMW will be at a loss, if they negociate the parts, like in the computer industry, you buy a load of parts, and get a load free for breakdowns, as to expensive to ship from China etc, maybe this is how they do their deals.....:nenau

Could it be the case the dealer knew of the faults, ignored them so after you bought the bike they could do the repairs at no expense to them via the BMW warranty?

And I thought I was a cynic:-) . Why blame the dealer ?? More likely a customer got rid in a part ex. Knowing something was wrong with it. Just saying.
Anyway either way BMW pay.

Or in a logical way, BMW part ex, so get a new 1250 on the yearly sales, sell the 2017 bike to beaver, now they have 2 BMW,s out on the road and hope they will pay the service costs, , and simply did not check bike had an issue.

Yes known fault. What pisses me off is that a bike not under warranty may have to pay.
That cannot be right with known faults.

The bike is not 2 years old yet, so either way, it would of been covered....
But when they service it, dont they start the engine? They must of known.....

Or probably think... "they all sound like a bag of spanners"

I do wish the GS had an line four. Suppose that is what the XR is.

Talking to a guy whilst waiting who had a 1600... we think we have problems 🥺
