Well it aint hard to figure out the amount of complaints just here alone, about knocking and ticking and vibrations etc, IMHO they all come from the cams, now get ready for the next questions, say, explain, prove..........;)

I do want them to explain how it passed their 200 point check and the service in this condition. In my mind its had neither, and this is a top dealer!!

200 point check if they only started the engine and never gave it a ride out, which they hardly do, how long did it take you to feel it was not right...

As I drove out the car park. Funny how they offered me a different bike for a test ride.. I didn't go anyway as I know what a GS is like.... thought they did a test run after a service?

If the test run after service is like the one over here in Germany, they go around the block, just try the brakes etc, and jump up and down on the pegs, time is money........

Most of these bikes will never get big mileages, pcp has put paid to that.BMW are doing what car manufacturers did in 80's just getting the stuff made and out of the door...........Who remembers the "fields" in places like Jersey full of Ford Escorts and Fiestas you could pick up cheap at the car auctions. The term was "moving metal" and it makes the industry look more healthy.

Producing crap has to lose you customers in the end.. but guess that's only if there is something better to buy

Now that is the real question, what feels better to one rider, will feel no so good to another, and because the rider does not like it, or cannot afford it, it suddenly becomes crap...........:blast

Anyway, who cares laying around the pool... so long as it's fixed for Friday when I get home 😉

Yes.. thought 1250 was ok.. but appears they have the same old issues...

Very poor quality. BM should be ashamed

If a comparable OEM came out with shaft drive I think at least 20% of current owners who were replacing their bikes would give it a go. The quality of BMW motorcycles isn't what you'd imagine it would be. Great bikes, though.

I only wish Triumph would do something. I'd be there tomorrow

I hope not to learn the hard way, but in 70,000 ish miles of BMW motorcycle owning, I’ve had two punctures, one drive bearing, one set of head race bearings, one switchgear. Only one breakdown when the K1300 had a flat battery due to the Garmin base drawing current, other issues picked up by the dealer, not bad.

I’ve three Ducati’s they never let me down at all, ST4, Multistrada and a Panigale.

Friends with other marques haven’t been as lucky.

So overall I’d say BMW were reliable and built well, certainly compared with Triumph and KTM, of course I may live to regret that.

I hope you luck holds and wish for some myself 😁
