Didn't have time for much of a ride today, but it felt really nice & I have almost the whole day tomorrow.

Great looking bike , you will love it. First TB i've seen with the enduro pack on (y)

Well , how did today go?

Very well thanks. Side stand modification done by mid morning then 222 miles today taking it to 266. Apart from some pretty strong wind gusts, the weather was perfect.

Bonding nicely with the bike. The engine is still tight of course, but the handling is good - nicely planted on the road but flickable at the same time. I did try the adaptive cruise control - didn’t much like it, so I’ll look to adjust the settings to make it non-adaptive if that’s possible. I think it should be.

you can adjust the distance on the cruise to the car infront. Thats yer lot as far as Im aware. Why would you not want it to adjust the speed to the car infront, give it time.

Because on a motorway or dual carriageway where all lanes are busy, if I'm gaining on the vehicles in front I'll usually filter between them if there is room, rather than slow down.

doesn't sound like the best idea for cruise control I would be on the throttle hovering over the brake, but each to their own.

Glad you got a good day.

I don’t like ACC and used to have it turned off (giving you a normal cruise control) which you can do via the Settings menu; unfortunately BMW in their wisdom introduced a software ‘feature’ via an update which means every time you switch off the ignition when you switch it back on the ACC is re-enabled.

Regular cruise control is fine in that situation - Rider chooses whether to brake or not.

I have it on my car and GS. Use it on every trip.

(mind you, we have a lot less traffic here... :D )

On the M25 an automatic transmission and adaptive cruise control is perfection

On French motorways and dual carriage ways adaptive cruise is a pain in the arse, excluding Paris of course, but if you go there you deserve to be miserable :nenau

Don't quite get why you would prefer regular cruise control but it's your choice.
Touching the brake like you say will turn it off anyway. Filtering in and out of traffic I wouldn't want cruise control on at all, sounds a bit dangerous.

I’m in agreement. I prefer normal cruise on long journeys with the option to stay in cruise and being able to change lane at a set speed as to slow / fast in one lane or switching on and off.

But you can do all that with adaptive cruise??.open the throttle it will accelerate above set cruise speed, release throttle it goes back to set cruise speed. Put indicator on to overtake and it will accelerate to set cruise limit to overtake etc.
