New bike pics and thoughts

Anyone know when they are planning to bring out the Adventure version ?

No definitive word from BMW that there will be one :augie

It would be sales suicide on the standard new GS if they had as some would just wait

So it'll be here is 12-18 months I reckon :D

Delighted your enjoying Bill, see you soon for your 1st service. Mad busy day at the office, i will be relaxing tomorrow on the Demo around the Dales..much fun to be had. Enjoy, Steve.:thumb

Any thoughts on the tyre valve been in the spoke of the wheels?

My camhead RT has one on the front wheel only - brilliant idea, makes it much easier to get different pump fittings onto, particularly the types at fuel stations (wish my rear wheel was the same)

Cheers from Oz

Bike looks real well with full luggage on it. Cant wait to go over for my own.
Health to enjoy it

I suppose im a bit of a giant...6' 4" and 102kg. That's why ive always had gs adventures, perfect bike for me. I will be buying a new adventure when they are out so there will be a low mileage gs lc for sale then ( well maybe not too low mileage as this bike is great:D:D:D ).

A bit? That's understating things to us sub 6' mortals struggling to get short legs to touch the floor on a GS. Thank goodness for BMW and reduced height options I say.

Bike looks great in White, but I would be biased as mine awaiting collection is in the same and yes it is shortened :ronno

I picked my new GS LC up from Jeffries at 9.00am this morning.

I then took it for a 140 mile ride calling in at squires café for a butty.

Initial thoughts on the bike are firstly the engine...It PULLS LIKE A TRAIN. Totally different to my 1200 gs adv I have ridden over past 6 years. The clutch is really light and the gear change a lot smoother. The journos slagging this bike off must have had a hidden agenda because there was no sign of 'tank slapping'. I would recommend anyone with a current gs to try the new one and break open the piggy banks :D:D.
Gonna do another full day tomorrow around n.yorks ( weather permitting ;) )

Looks nice - I'm interested to see you've got the varios on yours, Chandlers told me they weren't available yet. I wonder if any dealers actually have them in stock?

Cheers
Jimmy

Great idea, I take it there is one on the back too:thumb It's a pain in the arse doing the tyres in a garage with the current one.

It is on the face of it.

It does mean you couldn't put a tube in though, to get you out of trouble.

And yes, it does happen :thumb2

(unlikely for 99.9% of riders who choose to go for mag wheels though, granted)

I cannot think of any circumsraces that would lead me to put a tube in performance bikes tyre. It probably isn't even legal!

Plug it or bin it.

Are you getting the lowered seat as well? My last GS had wilbers lowered and the seat,
Thought it was excellent .
I was quoted £610.61 panniers,
top box(inc mounts)..........£448.80. I think I will give it a miss this time at that price , and wait till it all settles down

£1050 for Vario topbox and panniers, that's both eye and mouthwatering:eek:

So the TE is £13815, plus £1050 for full luggage, £600 for BMW Nav4 = £15465:eek:

About the same price as another BMW product - Mini Clubman One D is about £15500, with a 3 year warranty

Makes one think, just a bit

Just sayin'
