Got the rear sub frame and just checked the cluth thickness .

What is the thickness of a new clutch plate so i can see how much is left?

Just found that a new one is 6.4mm

Ive got 5.6mm left. Service limit is 4.4mm

Only 0.8mm wear in 54k miles.

Those figures look normal from my experience.
I once removed a clutch from an RT used as an instructor's training bike, worn down to 3.6 mm , This was slipping badly but still rideable.
If in doubt the clutch plate can be measured by removing the starter motor.

I'll give that a go later

Out of curiosity I'll measure my old one. It is still in my garage. Slipping under heavy-ish accelleration.

Might make sense to replace it anyway as the bike is apart?
