New 'Enamelled' Fuel Pump Controller fails

Update:
I had time on my hands this afternoon, so re fitted the 'failed' new FPC and surprisingly the bike seems to run OK. I will never trust it though so I'll try and get to the dealer with this for an opinion.

My bike has the new black enamel FPC. I arrived back from 3k trouble free miles in France and left the bike sitting for 3 days.

Went to start it but it would not fire up and had all the signs of a failed FPC so I fitted my Jury Rig and away she went.

I rode to Hursts and they took the FPC from me and put it on a bike in the workshops, it worked on the other bike!

Fitted it to mine again and it would not work. Turned out it was a bad connection in the male plug which goes in the top.

Some of these failures may have a similar cause, perhaps.

Update: I am now 99% sure that my new FPC failure was an electrical connection fault (I fitted it) rather than an FPC fault.

I called my dealer and he said, very reassuringly, "I have not seen ANY failures of the new FPC's, are you sure that the electrical connections were in fully?"

That comment made me re think

I am now sure that my FPC failure was my fault :blush

My first FPC failed after an offroading off and I am now beginning to wonder if the shock caused an electrical contact failure as well, although that was factory fitted.
