Hi, apologies if this is old news, but I've been in Germany for the last week, finishing off with a couple of days at Intermot. About 7 new GS's on the BMW stand for everyone to have a good look. All sorts of goodies fitted, including one with a single seat (like my old GSA) referred to as a Rallye.
Available in 4 colours, Alpine White, Racing Red, Blue Fire ( same blue as in the BM badge) & Thunder Grey Metallic. Same engine size, bore & stroke as the existing bike but with 125hp. Good looking new engine bars (extra), great, easily adjustable screen, finish on the spoked wheels (extra) is similar to the handle bars. All in all, I thought it looked really good.
Other points of interest (to me anyway)
New Metzeler tyres as fitted to the new GS will be available in the New Year. Called Tourance Next, the salesman said (he would!) that they had the wear characteristics of the old Tourance with the improved handling of the XP.
New Shoei touring helmet will be available in the New Year with drop down sun visor a la Schuberth.
All in all it wa a great week, despite torrential rain on the way from Cologne to Zeebrugge yesterday, and I would thoroughly recommend Intermot in future.
