After reading a post here about the nitride coating wearing off the sliders and rushing out to the garage to find mine suffered the same affliction i took my bike in to show them the problem. They took a couple of photo's to send to Melbourne and two weeks later i got the call to say my new sliders are in and can i bring in the bike. No argument and i must say the service from my dealer is first rate....:thumb2
Thanks for the heads up to this little problem guys:clap

how many HP'2 in Aus?

Heh Scotsmun, why Melbourne? Is that the BMW headquarters?
My hp2 actually arrives from Europe tomorrow to tullamarine (I flew it over).
I will be investigating the forks before warranty expires in April 08. Might have to send the photos too! Who did you send them to?

Also, how many HP'2 in Aus?
Mine will be at least the 3rd that I know about.
1. Yours - Sydney
2. Mine - Melbourne
3. ex Beachman's - Perth

Maybe we need a HP2 reunion!:beerjug:

Mine are being replaced as well, but there is a back order in Germany. BMW Germany expect them 20 Dec and it will take 4 days to get them to NZ. There was no questions about changing the forks. I sent a photo in as well. My right fork was wearing more than my left fork.

Don't forget that it's wear and play in the bushes that's causing the slider coating to rub off. Make sure the bushes are renewed aswell. :thumb

Ye Karlz BMW head office is in Melbourne, my dealer took the photos and sent them to the head office. I know of one other HP2 here in Sydney........are you doing the GS safari in march?

Thanks spout .....i will be making sure they pay close attention to the bearings when it is in.

I'm the owner of beachman's HP2 (now in Perth)
I'm also going to ask for a new set of forks

No luck with my dealer about worn sliders

I took my HP2 in for the dealer to look at, and they said, "it is just normal wear, and cosmetic." Very unprofessional I thought, they did submit the complaint to BMW, and got a vague response. I then took the front wheel off and checked the play in the stanchions and there is a bit of movement. I took it in again, and am waiting to hear what the response is with it. Is there anyone else in the US with the same problem, any results from their local dealer? Thanks
