I have just fitted a new set of Kineo wire wheels to my GS. I went for the 17" front with a carbon Ilmberger mudguard and a 5.5" rear which (just) allows a 180 rear tyre.
Has really changed the handling of the bike....the only problem is that I need to get the tyre pressure sensors fitted to the new wheels....get a fault light showing up at present.

I will never take this bike offroad ( I have a KTM if I want to do that) and I personally think they look great although they won't be everyones cup of tea.

I did think about black rims but was worried they would get scratched when fitting tyres etc.
You can get rims in a load of different colours and also the fasteners for the spokes. See the HPS website for details.

In what way? Without trying it, I'd imagine that the smaller front will make the bike turn in more quickly but the wider rear will slow down the rate of turn a bit.

Ennough of the imagining - you'd best let me try it....! :D

Well you better get your arse to Oldmeldrum at the end of May because that's the next time I will be home from Baku to ride it:beerjug:

Could be a plan. I've got friends in Insch and an ex brother-in-law somewhere in Aberdeen who's got a Ferrari, a Maserati and a Ducati 900SS in his garage. He always used to let me drive his interesting cars years ago..... :augie

I got them from HPS. They do all the lightweight wheels. They came from Italy.....was originally quoted 6 weeks delivery but that became 3 months due to the fact, apparently, that everyone saw them on the new MV Dragster and Kineo got shitloads of orders.

Well I am back on the 20th May for 2 weeks. Apart from a trip to London to see Fleetwood Mac got nothing else planned and we are only a few miles from Insch. so drop me a pm if you are going to be in the area.

They look great mate. Might do this conversion myself when i get a little bored with the lc.
The rear tyre is a 180/50 or 55 profile? Cheers

As I recall it is a 180/50 but I am abroad a the moment. Not a cheap conversion but I spend 36 months of the year in a shithole with nothing to spend money on except beer and hookers. And as my missus is here with me and I don't drink a lot I think I deserve the odd luxury when I get home.

Brilliant! Anyone know if they do a 17" front wheel in the same design as the stock cast wheel? Rode a TC GS years ago with a 180 rear and 17" front. I loooooooovvvved it!

great looking Bike, looks ace
