I want to transfer my favourites onto my laptop from my desktop PC. I also want to use my email accounts via outllook express, as I do on my desktop - how do I do this?
Many thanks:thumb2

Thanks :thumb2

Now another problem - I've always used outlook express for my 2 ntl accounts and 2 other hotmail accounts. I've set up everything the same on my laptop as I have on my desktop and managed to receive one email I sent as a test. I've since sent a few others but these have been received on my desktop okay but not on the laptop.
I've gone through the settings on my laptop - is there anything too obvious I've missed or maybe done wrong?

Yes.... somewhere within the accounts setting on outlook express is an option to "leave a copy of the message on the server" this will do at it says on the tin and means that both computers will retrieve the email.
Sorry I cant be more precise I dont have access to a windows PC.

I received my Inspiron laptop yesterday and will need to transfer programmes from my desktop. I would be be interested to know how you get on. I know very little about computers but if it's not too tricky I might attempt the transfer myself.

Mine came yesterday as well - I looked at my favourites and counted over 200 sites! I am now going through them and manually entering the ones I need rather than transferring all of them

Did you get the 6400?

Did you get the 6400?

Yes, the Dell Inspiron 6400, first impressions are good and I am very pleased with it.
I settled for the Vista Premium home pack. From what I gather the full strength Vista requires a lot of computing power to run which slows everything down. I have a Computer literate mate coming around next week to set up the WiFi and email but I might attempt to transfer some software off my desktop. If I disappear from the forum for a couple of weeks, you will know the transfer hasn't gone well and I have crashed my desktop :D

Pleased with my 6400 too:thumb2

I stuck with Xp if only because I know how it works. The wifi works well and I've managed to get all the stuff I wanted loaded onto it - probably did it the long way but it all works ok.
Good luck!
