nah... that's about right 300 has all the bit's 301 and 302 does not...blokes not there either cr*p i have it in my mind to drive down there and just collect it. cos if it turns up and I don't like it I'll probably scream whatever happened to british manufacturing?

tanks are made by same company as GSA1200 mesh re-enforced poly-blah blah (black pastic) with either 300 carbon fibre tank 301 glass fibre tank painted or 302 glass fibre tank not painted.

there we are that's simple enough, I mean what could be simpler have just been speaking to what I can only think is mrs P who's very knowledgeable and I asked all the stupid question however she don't know nuffing about the costs....

I think her name is Bettina Dietmannsberger....sounds like she is the office manager...very knowledgeable...:thumb2

HPN stuff

Has anyone had any luck with an order? I've gotten a reply from Klaus Pepperl but he has not responded to my enquiry on where to send the money.. He must have more orders than stock at this point.

I come to same conculsion bit stressed cos he seems a nice bloke but he's sitting on his hands.

I'm aiming to be in Germany soon I think doorstepping the bloke is the way forwards. As I have no choice need the tank for a stupid thing I've gotten myelf in the middle of.

tanks

karl, why is hpn having so much trouble. Should we assume they have not made the thing or that they are having probs. Even if the hpn crew said to pay a deposit and get an order number u would end up with some certainty and be able to plan trips accordingly.

The group buy thing is that still on?

I've explained to the chap that there's a potential order for 10 tanks. If required I can pay a euro deposit from german account so there's no loss dealing with CC's or transfers etc. I wanted to get a number in the cue if he could provide an order from his supplier stating a delivery time. When I last spoke with him he said he had 50 tanks but was waiting for a piece to complete each tank, since then he's not been available. So the tanks are either not ready or demand has already out stripped supply and I'm 9all of us) at the back of the cue.

He still sounded up beat and even the office sort sounded ok, I'm not sure now hence my idea to doorstep the bloke nextime I'm in the same country.

getting abit stressed now... cos time is moving faster here than it appears to be moving there.

just spoke with HPN they are now taing orders for the tanks orders are best placed by fax order number for item then quantity and if you have VAT number etc. matey said they are complete units and ready for shipping blah blah... Will let you know when it arrives touratech still not ready.

BMW Motorrad does recommend HPN and Touratech. Threre should be no problems with the warrant:nenau y

Not just for works riders

Owners of BMW Motorrad´s uncompromisingly sporty HP2 Enduro now have the opportunity to convert their machines for racing, leisure riding or even long-distance travel thanks to a wide range of accessories available from renowned tuning and development company HPN and aftermarket specialists Touratech.

Ever since Hubert Auriol won the 1981 Paris-Dakar Rally with a motorcycle prepared by HPN for BMW, the Seibersdorf-based company has developed a reputation for building, servicing and testing rally bikes, and has helped many rally riders and adventure travellers fulfil their motorcycling dreams and ambitions. Race fans will remember BMW Motorrad´s beautiful factory R 900 RR that was prepared by HPN and raced at the Dakar in 2000 by riders such as Cyril Despres, Juan Roma and Jimmy Lewis. And even today, HPN is involved in the racing activities of the BMW Motorrad factory team at events such as the Baja California, Erzberg Rodeo, Pikes Peak ´Race to the Clouds´ as well as numerous Cross Country Championship races across Europe.

It is thanks to feedback from riders like Simo Kirssi, Chris Pfeiffer, Casey Jarrow, Sascha Eckert and Gerhard Forster that race-bred developments eventually find their way onto customer machines. It´s no surprise, therefore, that today´s production HP2 Enduro is lighter, faster and considerably more powerful than the factory R 900 RR that was specially built for the Dakar rally just a few years earlier.

Developed by enthusiasts for enthusiasts, a range of HPN race-proven parts and accessories for the street legal HP2 Enduro now allows owners to take their machines to the next level - even under extreme conditions.

HPN´s 23-litre tank allows owners to go much further on their HP2 Enduro, without compromising on its excellent ergonomics and off-road ability.
The large polyethylene tank is made by the same company that makes fuel tanks for BMW Motorrad and it therefore meets the same quality standards as the original equipment. Mid and side covers are available in either carbon-fibre composite with a clear epoxy coating, glass-fibre composite in the original HP2 indigo blue colour, or glass-fibre composite that you can paint in a colour of your own choice.

Touratech Executive Director Herbert Schwarz recently rode an HP2 Enduro from Canada to Mexico and commented that with a few, small modifications, it made an excellent touring machine. One such modification was a larger fuel tank, and the Touratech long-distance fuel tank conversion for the HP2 more than doubles its range, with an additional fuel volume of 17 litres. When an HP2 Enduro is equipped with these side tanks, it has a total capacity of 30 litres, which can give a rider up to 550 km of range - enough to get from Milan to Marseille.

Touratech´s handlebar risers allow a good element of adjustability for the HP2 Enduro rider. They not only raise the handlebars by 26mm, but also offer three different handlebar positions towards and away from the rider. The original clamp is used - screwed on to two aluminium blocks - and the blocks are screwed on to the fork stabiliser, making it quick and easy to mount.

It´s often overlooked but it´s very easy to snap a brake or clutch lever, as well as damage your hands while riding your HP2 Enduro off-road. HPN´s carbon hand protectors help avoid those bruised fingers, bent levers and leaking brake or clutch sealing rings during the heat of a race.

If you´re serious about searching out the roughest tracks or the rockiest paths, then an aluminium sump guard is a must. Touratech´s specially developed guard (below) ensures that any knocks or impacts are distributed across the entire engine block, thereby protecting the engine housing in the best possible way. This sump guard is constructed from 4mm aluminium and is so long that it also protects the front silencer and the catalytic converter.

Many other products are available for the HP2 Enduro from HPN and Touratech, including oil coolers, throttle housing assembly guards, reinforced drive shafts, strengthened front and rear rims, twin Xenon headlamps, crash bars, roadbook holders, frame protectors, locking oil filler caps, and exhaust manifold covers (to name just a few). However, with all the options available from both companies, a wise and inexpensive investment is the HP2 side-stand support extension from Touratech, which ensures that your bike won´t fall over when parked on softer ground. It´s made of stainless steel and anodised aluminium, and is quick and easy to fit.

been on my list to call but have been off with work, still out of office will try to call'em tomorrow.

report back then now have to deal with a minor riot.

Just spoke with matey at HPN I'm told that all orders are dealt with in order of arrival, my question was then how did they deal with them then? and where was my tank! As I placed the order ages ago?

Answer from Mr. P "did you get an order confirmation?"

Answer "YES! and I'm getting abit stressed!!"

He said "Oh! Ok will send the details to make the payment and your tank will be sent."

Will let you know how this continues, but matey did say all orders that are in the system will be honoured! He seems genuine enough but probably overwhelmed by demand...

regards

LOIQ aka carl

tank

Carl next time u are talking with him, tell him that this aussie dude has been emailing and faxing for ages with no response. I have not order confirmation number,nothing.... My first email was over 12 months ago.

Mike,

I'm on it later today.
I've got a site visit first which I hope won't take too long, then I'll call Mr. P and see if he can shed any light on the story.

sorry got stuck all day in ajob that should ahve taken 3 hours.

Will get onto it, once i'm back in the office.

I'm seriously considering self harm, this is starting to be death by a thousand cuts. Spoke with the bloke from HPN again today. Seems the tanks are not totally ready after all can't give you a reason why but they ain't! somehting about having to be refinished.

Had a reasonable chat he still says anyone who placed an order and is on the system will get one. Still think he's genuine as he did laugh when I made a joke about slipping timescales and that it was having a pretty bad effect on my race position...

Have put him back on my chase list for end of week/ early next week.

Am also considering the fact that I might have to take my 1150 instead of HP for this event...

carl

thanks carl, gee thats extreme!!!! I dont mean the self harm either........Riding your 1150gs in some comp while the hp2 sits in shed. Carl did you happen to mention my name to the dude and that i had been mailing them fo r12 months?
