After having sold my R1100RT I had a new project all lined up but unfortunately it didn't work out

So in a complete change of direction I'm driving up to Aberdeen on Wednesday to collect a new project bike from Shirlaws

This will be the third of these I have had and I really rate them

More details to follow . I'm sure many will be able to guess what it is from this picture

Very, very nice, always admired these, just the weight put me off, but supposed to be a good handling bike once up and running....enjoy your project.
Might I add if I had owned one I would have made it more a bagger style bike, by removing that enormous lump sticking up at the back, possibly finding a way of making it as an add on, much like putting back on a top box. But only when two up riding. Solo riding, it looks daft. IMHO

Bike perfect lines with just the side cases attached.
Oh, and fitment of rider foot boards instead of pegs, it warrants that mod.

I have had a similar thought on the top box , riders in USA have used a Harley rear rack to replace the top box , I have to draw the line with foot boards though , definitely not for me

That does make a striking difference to its lines, yes I guess floor boards are an individual taste, perhaps wider goldwing pegs, I have a pair of unused ones your welcome to have. Easily adapted to suit.

Happy riding! :D

I still laugh it taking out dealer demo to London for a gig and "impressing" my wife with courieresque filtering round the west end....😆 Great bikes, big lump and I sold at a dealer an ultimate Lux model with every available extra of the day that took two sessions to handover...! Saw it for sale a year or 3 later for less than half money so a good one is amazing value these days... The mirrors are the widest bit! 🤣

Yes - this is the same fully kitted out . I commuted from Hexham to Aberdeen every week for a year and used one of these , ideal bike for a 5 hour commute

Well it's here , not to everyones taste but I really like them having had a few of them over the years

Seems way better than advertised , once I fitted a new battery it fired straight up and everything works on it other than the EHCS centre stand , but that appears to be just a hydraulic seal issue as it's leaking oil from around the actuator shaft area and the motor is spinning

Someone has fitted the wrong tyres as it has radials on it and because of the weight of the bike it should have bias ply . I would have been changing them anyway as they are pretty worn and dated 2021

Previous owner had paid over £2000 in 2022 to have the iABS pump replaced for a new one as the invoice is in the service history file , I think I would have just done an ABS bypass but the servo brakes for the moment are working really well so I will have to decide if I de ABS or not . I will be changing the brake hoses to SS braided lines and refurbishing the calipers anyway

So for now just a full service and ride it and then decide what if anything else to do to it . So its not really the next project bike which means I can now concentrate on the Moto Guzzi le Mans re-commission

I'll post a few updates as I service the K and rebuild the EHCS centre stand actuator
