Picked up new R1200GS yesterday from williams in manchester, good deal, good service and freindly, give them a try if your thinking of trading in/up.
Part exd 1150GSA and Gixxer 1000 both a few years old and sorry to see them both go.
First thoughts of the 1200 are, much lighter and easer to move around, been 6ft tall the 1150 was still a hand full.
With the extrs cubes the 1200 is much more responsive to the throttle, and although still in the running in period it feels eger to go. Im sure as the miles go on the 1200 will be just as good, if not better than the 1150 was in taking me and her indoors many miles, camping/touring.

As you've had a GS before you'll know that the engine keeps getting better and better - mine wasn't really loosened up 'till 18,000 miles!

Once run in, ditch the cat and fit a fuel controller (such as the Wunderlich one). Even better midrange and a top end rush you wouldn't believe possible from a 'boxer'.

Oh, and have you discovered the 'two handfuls' throttle yet? Rode mine for ages with just one handful and it was a revelation to discover there was more to go :D

As still in the running period im trying not to push the needle past 5k revs yet, but it does feel like it wants to go.
Having spent the last 4hrs on this site looking at all the extras to bolt on, my shopping list is growing by the hour.
Once i sell my many gixxer parts i wiil start my christmas shopping.

Hi Dave

Tracy came around tonight and said you'd dropped in to the site where Steve's working with the new 12. Just to say, if you're at Squires tomorrow night or Sat morning, you'll understand if I'm not talking! Only because I'm jealous of course.

Not as drastic as you think, going into hospital in 10 days time for another knee opp.
Gixxer was the daddy, and i have had some great times with it.
1150adv, just a bit of a hand full with the extra weight.

So advice to all is, If you want to ride the best stay away from keeping fit.

1 week on and 650 miles done, service booked for next sat, so dont plan to go out on your bike as it will rain.

Glad your liking the BM, and getting used to the differences.

Mine is black and silver, also look out for it at sherb and i will keep an eye out for any red ones.
