I ordered the spacers and mudguard and half the spacers were missing, I complained and he got arsey and said send the stuff back and he will refund, I did and he wont refund.
I paid through paypal and lodged it with them but there was some confusion and it timed out or something and they didn't want to know the cnuts, Hes a rip off merchant, I will door step him one day for sure.

Sorry when we thought gold alloy wheels looked good on our Suzuki GS's in the 80's we were wrong and they still look just as wrong , as for gold anodised rims on spoked wheels they look okay on crossers but not adventure bikes like the GS/GSA or A/T's

I disagree think the bike looks ace better than the HP

Pics of my bike in showroom Thurs, then different view on Fri!!

The rear black subframe, rear footrest hangers, silver bits under back of seat and rear grab rail are all being painted the same BMW white as the rest of bike. The engine rocker covers and sump guard powder coated satin black to match engine together with the silver panel next to the BMW badge on the side of the fairing. Biggest change though is those gold cartridges front and rear!!!

Good man. :thumb

Now THAT, is how it’s done. :rob :beerjug:

Forgot to mention the 17” RT wheels, powder coated ultra high gloss black, with Michelin Power RS sports tyres, waiting to replace the spokes.

Some pics once it’s finished would be great :thumb

Big thanks to my dealer, Motorrad Central in Dalkeith for all their help in pulling it all together.
Don’t do BMW cars or Minis, just an excellent bike shop with great staff all round, and good old
fashioned customer service.

Pics please. Wheels are going to look great .

When are these going on? Might have to empty my piggy bank ...

Hoping to pick the bike up start of March weather permitting. Depends how long the painting/powder coating takes and then my dealer putting it all back together. Wheels with the new tyres are waiting in my garage and I have the spacers from Rennkuh.
The spokes will be swapped over as soon as I get the bike home.

Great. Can’t wait to see the wheels on it.

I have a TE basic Rallye on its way to dealer. Didn’t go for tyre sensors as the bike can only link one set of sensors to the bike, so swapping wheels generates the warning light. On other bikes I never needed a sensor to tell me when a tyre was getting soft.

I have just collected my 17” RT wheels after being powder coated high gloss black. Fitted with Michelin Power RS sports tyres 120/70 front 180/55 rear.

Ohlins TTX shocks to be fitted by dealer, so I can use the preload to raise the front by 1” to keep the stance of the bike the same, apart from being loads better than BM shocks inc ESA.

Rocker covers, sump guard, aluminium fairing panels all being done Satin Black. Rear subframe, silver under seat subframe cover and rear black rack support all being painted white.

Pics to follow once bike collected at start of March. Once properly run in and after Remus do some headers for my can it will be a full system and HT.

:thumb2 I really like what you and Reggie are doing with the wheels ... just a couple of "probably" dumb questions though .. when you say "the bike can only link one set of sensors to the bike, so swapping wheels generates the warning light" what is the impact to a (1250) bike with tyre sensors of swapping the wheels to RS/S, ... why can't the current sensors read the tyres on the new wheels?

And "Ohlins TTX shocks to be fitted by dealer, so I can use the preload to raise the front by 1” to keep the stance of the bike the same, apart from being loads better than BM shocks inc ESA." My bike has the Dynamic ESA which I understand is linked to the rest of the "brains" ABS, ASC, driving modes etc. what would be the impact on these aids be by switching wheels sizes ?

Thanks
JohnC

The bike can read the sensors in the new wheels, after you take the bike back to the dealer to be re-programmed. The early LC’s could recognise 2 different sets of wheels eg. off-road tyres on one set and pure road tyres on another. The later ones cannot so changing wheels illuminates a warning light.

The ESA alters the preload but that is in relation to the load it senses, eg a pillion or lots of luggage. Changing the front tyre to a 17” drops the front by 1”. The ESA won’t compensate for that, so the front of the bike will drop, altering the weight distribution by lowering the engine and possibly affecting ground clearance. Would be a bit like dropping forks through the yokes on a normal bike. I want to keep the stance/weight distribution the same but be able to choose sports tyres as I don’t venture off road at all.

Regarding the ABS etc, Reggie353 has been running a 17” front wheel for a while with no problems from the electronics.
