Why not make it clear that you weren't answering my specific question, I'm not a mind reader.

I'm not taking it personally. I just like accurate reporting - something it appears sadly lacking in these posts.

Just for clarity, what are these 'issues' you refer to and how do they differ compared to other similar bikes?

I’ve already explained to you, several times, what I meant. You keep choosing to be pedantic.

I’ve also said before, if you look back through the LC section, you’ll be able to find everything you need to know. I can’t be bothered, but it’s all there, if you’re so inclined.

Forget recalls and bulletins lets mention all the problems with these bikes, there is a lot !! My 11 month old 1250 has been back to the dealers more times than my ZZR had in 5 years. I'm not slagging the bike i actually really like it,i'm on my 3rd but fuck me they need to sort the reliability out. Having said that i did 15,000 miles on my 2017 GS and didnt have a single issue but plenty do.

Life's too short to get that upset about stuff and slagging folk off :blast

Exactly +1 :thumb Mothership will sort them if anything goes wrong.:D

Actually the numbers vary quite a bit ,not that I wish to indulge you either :aidan

As I said It’s a generally meaningless number because it doesn’t take into account the number of new models or range of products. If manufacturer a) has 5 models, all of which have seen no updates beyond graphics for 5 years it may have minimal recalls. If manufacturer b) has 5 models all of which get regular technical updates to embrace new technology It’s likely to have more. If manufacturer c) has 15 models etc etc. Which of those Brand options is most desirable is a personal thing.

A figure from 2016 as per that website would also not take into account the rapid range expansion of some brands like triumph and others.

What it does show is that bmw like everyone else has had recalls all along and there are no more now than 15 ish years ago.

Have you not sussed that out yet Mr Director ? You really do need to seek psychological treatment of some sort. Here are you, spouting all the shite of the day about a bike you dont own, and never have ie a 1250, yet you and your flyboy boyfriend never miss an opportunity to diss the bike. Neither of you have hands on experience of a 1250 or owned one so your posts dissing the model make you both look like the utter cocks you are. Now, after you've bought one, and run it for a while maybe those of us that do own one might, just might take your views into consideration, but i wouldnt hold your breath.:comfort:augie:rolleyes:

Why don’t you try posting without resorting to personal insults, and making yourself look daft. I’m happy to have a debate, but not with someone that has to continually name call. Do you think you can manage that?

And I don’t have to have owned a 1250 to comment in here, thanks. I’ve owned several LC GS’s, all of which are the subject model of the conversation about recalls and service bulletins. ;)

Out of interest how many visits were for different issues or for repeats of the same one ? You say there are lots of faults but are they all different.

A ZZR was a Updated ZX10 with thrilly knickers. It was old hat technology wise even in the ZX10 so not surprised it was a sturdy reliable beast.

I'm back tomorrow for the non starting issue when warm, first raised its head back in September, plus its been back twice for the keyless fuel cap not opening .I cant be arsed looking for all the issues that have been reported on here but the replacement engines come to mind !

The ZZR didnt have any technology that's probably why it was so reliable, i got one of the first updated versions in 2012 it was an awsome bike wish i had kept it just for the odd thrill.

Yes but NOT the 1250 ! the one you like having a go at most.:comfort:nenau:blast

I wasn’t testing you just interested. So really it’s the same problem not being resolved more than anything.

I had a red zx10 for a little bit. Monster of an engine for the standards of the era but a heavy beast. In that era models had long production runs without much more than paint changes so they were Uber reliable by the end. Honda vfr’s being a prime example. Half the problem now is the constant appetite for each model year to make a leap, which potentially brings a new set of issues with each Update. Although far from unique to BMW.

Be interested to see if a batt upgrade fixes your starting issue. If they change it ask if it was a lithium batt. Of the 2 people I know personally that have had the issue both had lithium batts which they switched to agm with a higher cca. ( fixed both )

I first raised the issue with the brakes about a year ago now. Some of you lot might want to have a look just to remind you what kind of trolls you are. You highjack topics, turn it into your usual spat and throw insults left right and centre. I did happen to be at the receiving end of your unpleasant nature and closed the thread so please don’t bother to comment again.
Some of us come here for knowledge, advice and a discussion. Why don’t you just make your very own topic and have a go at each other until you bleed.
As for the moderators....
I still have the bike and I love it even though it has gone back to the dealer a few times now and it’s about to go back again with a stuck exhaust flap. Maybe I shouldn’t have mentioned this as it may get you started again... but hey, 12k miles since the fix and the brakes are not leaking

Has anyone had the new updated Hayes Calipers fitted yet ? I’m sure I read a few were on the list to have them.

If so ?

Good points . Maybe it’s time to apply the anchors to this thread :-)

Not pedantic at all.

When I asked a direct question to your comment about recalls - nothing else, you gave a silly answer, rather than admit how few (none, in reality) there were.

I also think this thread has run its course.

Yes, my own and my two mates have had our bikes returned with new updated callipers fitted. There is no visual difference that I can determine- other than not leaking!
