New Rubber on BMW Heated Grips

After 62k on my 1150GS the heated grips are working fine, but the rubber grips are getting worn.

I've just found these rubber grip replacements made by Ariete on eBay that go over the original heating elements.

Anyone gone down this route?

Basically:-

1 Are they any good?
2 How easy are they to fit?

The ARIETE ones on eBay are very good quality easy to replace cut old ones being carefull not to damage heated grip wiring the get some Tesco value hairspray give the grip a good coating on the inside this acts as a lubricant and will slide on easily then acts as an adhesive

I have replaced the rubbers but not using your exact ones but similar.
Of all my worries about doing it it was the easiest job I had ever done.

Just use a razor blade or something to cut the old rubber off when peeling back the rubber - be careful as it could start to lift the heating elements.
When putting the new one on use some cheap hair spray - helps to allow the new grips to slide on. There was no need for me to use glue on the new ones.

Hi Mike,

Motorworks do replacement grips and you need two right hand ones to replace those on the OEM BMW heated grips. They're only £8.04 per side so there's no need to pay £25+ to have some sent from Germany.

A piece cut out of an old pushbike inner tube, cut to the correct length, pulls over and does the job perfectly

The heated grips have a liner which is the same on both sides, so it means that both sides need the OEM right handed ones to fit. It's been a few years since I last did mine, but they're about due for changing again...

I am sure the set of replacement rubber grips I bought many moon's ago for over the heated filaments on my GSA were from one pack.
