Could resist the temptation no longer and so arrange a test ride today on Pidcock's Scrambler X demonstrator
Having had my much modified Triumph Scrambler for 4 years now and still having fond memories of my last Twin cam GS, I was intrigued as to how BMW's Scrambler would compare.
So took it for a trip around some of my favourite roads in S Derbyshire/N Leicestershire.
Despite being 6' 3" the bike did not feel particularly cramped and quite a stretch to the bars - would still go for the high seat and bar risers if I bought one. Standard seat was comfy enough for the hour plus test ride.
Exhaust sounds good - nearly as good as the Arrow on my Triumph
Suspension felt good - fairly compliant and not too much front end dive.
Brakes good - not in the same class as a modern GS or KTM but fine for this style of bike.
Biggest issue I had was the bike was fitted with the off road tyres which on greasy roads just gave me no confidence and so could not explore the handling potential of the bikeThat said it did not feel as agile as my Triumph.
Power was good and as I remember my last twin cam
..........and shock/horror the heated grips got really hot
All in all a very good bike but to be honest apart from the brakes not really something to temp me away from my current Triumph Scrambler.
So looks like this will be staying for a while yet

Bespoke is bestI thought we were living in the 'post cool age'. I thought being cool all finished when it became fashionable to be a nerd.
I love the look of these bikes and hopefully I will have an airhead scrambler in my garage by xmas but......... I won't be cool on it because I'll have a beeming smile on my face.
Hell, who wants to look like the Fonzethat's not cool
