New Sena 20s Bluetooth Intercom with FM tuner

Just done a firmware update, that might make a difference. Also, some of the issue may be the GPS (Zumo 590). I can't find a way of turing off voice guidance. If I mute voice from the 590, it still interrupts music, but with silence.
Maybe it's because you have paired the Zumo 590 as "main phone", not as "multipoint".
And if you manage music and phone from the gps, the 20S is not able to treat them separately. So the "audio multitasking" has no effect.
You could try to toggle the new "navigation app support" option, and see if something changes...

BTW, you have a configuration different from mine, so I'm not going to bother you anymore. ;-)

iPhone is paired as mobile phone using the Hands Free Profile and A2DP (1st mobile phone), GPS is paired as HFP (2nd mobile phone). Stereo music is from the phone, it's not possible to use the GPS to stream music from the phone (I tried it but it won';t connect as a media player)

I think the Navigation App is for a navigation app on the mobile, but I haven't tried it yet

And for those who still don't know it, iPhone app is finally released! :bounce1

well, those things didn't happen on v1 firmware. GPS caused everything to mute. Maybe the updates apply to v1.1

Well, whatever Sena say, the GPS prompt always overrides intercom. The other person is cut off until the voice prompt stops. And at motorway speeds the Vox activated voice command keeps activating, and so your music is interrupted every 30 seconds by Sena lady saying "say a command". And if you pair an iPhone to Zumo 590 then pair the 590 to the Sena as a phone the music isn't loud enough to hear. Intercom range is line of sight to about 500m

Berin, have you given any end-user feedback to Sena about this? Maybe another software update is needed to "mature" the product features to match customer expectations/sales blurb?

Is the VOX setting adjustable??

I'm still awaiting my dual kit turning up to replace my Autocom, never used a Bluetooth intercom before so I hope I haven't ordered an expensive pile of shit.

I'll post on the Seba forum. The GPS interrupt must be a firmware issue. You can turn off some of the Vox commands but not all, but if you angle the mic away it causes less problems, but you need to be able to turn it all off

I hope they sort it. Just had an email to say my Dual kit will be delivered tomorrow.

Got the kit, charged it up.....

Attempted to fit it to my System 6 flip front, only to find its mounting position would interrupt the visor slider on the left side of the helmet. It might be possible to mount it externally to the helmet using the sticky pad method.

Has anyone fitted a Sena 20S or similar Bluetooth comms (SMH10 ?) to a BMW System 6 helmet? If so, how did you do it?

I don't want to commit to fitting it only to find it's no good and I can't return it as a used item.

Gonna also send Sena an email and ask their advice as I'm sure plenty of other folk have similar issues.

Am I doing something wrong?

Got my s20 Dual yesterday and playing in my living room charged up the units. Followed instructions for setting up FM radio, however I can not hear any radio channels, just a hissing sound despite trawling through the frequencies.

1)I was holding the headset and speakers in my hands as I had not fitted it to a helmet yet (probably irrelevant)

2) I set the FM radio to Europe settings

3)I reset to Factory defaults and started again after each failed attempt.

4) This is on both of the units

5) I carried out Firmware update to 1.1 befor doing anything else

Could it be as simple as the radio does not work well inside a house?
Any advice please
Regards
Rob

I'm monitoring this thread carefully, before I spend my own cash on a set, so this is not based on experience. I've read about them on the internet, so am clearly an expert :)
- a lot of radios personal radios use the wires to the speakers and/or microphone as an aerial, so best those are plugged in and cable unwound
- however the sena 20 appears to have a little flip up aerial (so the above might not apply)- Not sure if it's used for blue tooth comms or FM, but worth a try - have you extended that?
- unless you live in nuclear fall out shelter, I wouldn't expect being indoors to have a huge impact on radio reception

Please keep the real world experience comming....

The kit says it's for a full face helmet doesn't it? And you have to purchase the flip helmet stuff separately.
Re the radio transmission, couldnt you walk outside to test it? Then update us?!

The s20 kits comes with 3 different microphones and should be OK for open, full and flip-front lids.

Ok Update. Tried again today and managed to get Radio 1 on two seperate occasions but could not replicate ; and Classic FM once and was then unable to replicate - no other channels. This was in my back garden, again just holding the equipment and probably only for about 15 minutes before I had to go out. When playing, the sound was excellent albeit stationary in my back garden. The tuner is a tad clumsy and jumps up or down the frequencies in unpredictable chunks which is probably why i could not find Radio 1 or FM again. I guess with a bit more time and patience I will get it sorted. My intention will be to save the channels I want as presets to avoid hassle when out and about

Cheers
Rob

Being a new boy here I want to ask if we are allowed to post links to a Youtube video review of the S20 that I came across. Don't want to get in to trouble too early!
