So as above. Big day today.

Back to Swiss chalet I was in 4 nights ago, different route.

The highlights ….

Have skied here few times.

At top was going to turn and do the Grimsel , but I’m a sucker for the best pass. Susten.

Which led me to this ….

Actually quite cold on top today.

24 ish in valleys.

Coffee in Andermatt then onto Susten.

Much more suited to a big bike, flowing bends.

Another 80 miles of good roads to hotel.

Long day, 300 plus of buffeting is tiring.

But worth it.

Day 9

Normal 0900 start as I was pooped from yesterday.

Just mooched along some beautiful Swiss back roads, a couple of lovely Col too

Crop into France near Delle.

Bit of French Gas, now to do a route in Vosges recommended from a UKGS legend .

Initially up the Ballon.

This is much more my thing, twisty but not too much.

Surface is amazing too, probably the best ascent yet on the trip.

Up to Bellle Hutte ski area then Saint Die.

Prob my fave day riding.

I look at the map and pick a lake on a b road. Usually good roads near water I find.

I’m right, it’s not well known but it’s a belter.

I also employ my usual “don’t stop at the first lay by” and it works a treat. I’m rewarded with a beach and parking. Great find.

More fantastic B roads , a random tank and then into digs at Sarrebourg. Get lucky and one of managers allows me to park in basement with all the old furniture etc, result.

Up early and rescue the bike from all the spare furniture etc in the basement.
