Fitted the horn on Saturday. Hardest thing was taking the beak off (for the first time) - once I got that sussed it was a piece of cake. The horn gives a nice deep tone, something like a black cab. Doesn't snag anything, brake line touches the body of the horn only on full lock - so that shouldn't cause a problem.

Based on this thread I ordered a Magnum last Tuesday from Nippy Normans...what a good firm to deal with! Arrived Friday and fitted today (why take the beak off?). Well chuffed with the noise, and fits nicely in the limited space using the original bracket...thanks for the recommendation. Only slight concern is the trumpet facing slightly skywards. Will it catch water or is it well sheltered? I always have to push some kitchen towel into my Atomic Horns on the 1150 when giving it a good wash to keep the water out.

Still at £13 inc. p&p, a very fair and loud piece of kit. My friend was so impressed he immediately ordered one for his equally under horned Yamaha.

JUST ORDERED MY NEW HORN AT NIPPY NORMANS ALONG WITH A FENDER EXTENDER AND OPTIMATE III-AS DUE TO THE SHITE WEATHER(LACK OF USE) THE BATTERY IS GETTING SLUGGISH ON MY GS1200-THOUGHT THESE GEL BATTERIES WERE SUPPOSED TO GO THAT BIT FURTHER??

1. 'cos I'd never done it before - so thought I would:confused:
2. Thought it'd make it easier to work on the horn - and probably did.

Just had the 600m service done at Rainbow. The computer had logged a horn fault from when I changed to the Magnum. Talk about 'Big Bother'. Still delighted with the horn.

Interestingly I took the new RT out today, and that is fitted with a 'real' horn Probable fit the GS with the same connector at a silly price, but why fit a horn like a sparrow fart on the GS and a blaster on the RT?

All capitals is shouting, we can hear you fine like this. :thumb

DAMMIT will you lot stop posting on stuff you buy. You just cost me another £70 - horm, fender extender, flaps and a swinging arm cover. :tears

Just fitted the magnum to 12GS in the original location. The body of the magnum clears the front brake line by @ 10mm. I'm concerned that as the suspension moves there could be contact between the horn body and the brake line.

Has anyone had any problems to date?

Hi

can someone please confirm that you do not need to put another relay in???

can the wires be cut and just connected?? WITHOUT using THE RELAY supplied.

i have got a 2004 adventure......PLEASE HELP..

i'm a big bloke, with a big horn, and i want to put it on my bike bike. But i dont want to mess up the electrics..

Thanks

Mark

I can confirm that the 1200GS needs no relay, just cut off the OEM connector, crip/solder on a pair of spades and bob's your dads brother.

I'm sure if the 12's weedy electrics can take it the mighty ADV should have no problem:)
