What is the cheapest GPS Garmin system that wil do 1 , UK and Europe , and 2 can it be expanded to cover USA?
THANKS ALL,

You can get a cheap handheld unit that will cover the whole world for 100 pounds.
This unit does not have maps.

Do you want a handheld or car/bike unit ? (or perhaps something that can be used both ways ?)
Do you want maps ?
Do you want 'turn by turn' auto-routing mapping ?
Do you want voice prompts with the 'turn by turn' mapping ?

A unit with all of the above is significantly more that 100 pounds.

Give us an idea of your usage and projected budget and we can give you more meaningful information.

Do you want a handheld or car/bike unit ? (or perhaps something that can be used both ways ?)YES , BIKE MOUNTED A MUST NOT HANDHELD IF IT COULD WORK ON CAR DASH AS WELL THATS A BONUS!

Do you want maps ?YES

Do you want 'turn by turn' auto-routing mapping ? YES

DOES THIS HELP? GARMAIN QUEST OR 2610? POS?!

AS I SAY NEED UK+EUROPE, IF AMERICA COULD BE ADDED THAT IS A BONUS!

The Quest sounds like an option, about 350 pounds.
Comes with City Select Europe mapping CD, car windscreen mount, car power/speaker cable, USB cable etc

Specs here on Garmins website;
http://www.garmin.com/products/quest/
Note the European Quest has more internal memory for maps (243 MB) than US version.

Comes with City Select Europe maps that cover Western Europe;
See Garmins website for what area it covers;
http://www.garmin.com/cartography/mapSource/cityselectEuro.jsp

The Quest has 243 MB of internal memory.
See this site for how big the maps are for each country;

Need to add a motorcycle mount; about 35? pounds for a RAM mount

City Select North America maps are extra; 175 pounds in UK or 120 dollars in the US
