Bought this from a friend of mine who is also a member on the forum. 80,000 miles but impeccable service file and records, even have a picture of it new and still in the crate. I'm owner #4 and am sure it will outlast me!! Does need a set of tyres so have ordered up at set of Conti Road Attack 3's. Have owned a 2002 GSA1150 and liked it but had a soft spot for a R1100GS so very pleased with this one. Any piss taking and or advise welcomed and encouraged

No piss taking from me. I just sold one the same year and colours. One of the last made.
Seeing this made me smile and sad at the same time. Missing mine already.
A lovely characterful bike, enjoy.:beerjug:

Thanks boys. This forum seems to bring out the best and worst in people at times. In this case..............the best

I had one like that,a 99 dakar, for all weathers riding so not as neat as that... It was the best tume of the 3 i had and really took off up the rev range... I added a John gemi chip, a k&n and r1200 injectors and it cut virtually all of the low down lumpy running they can have... Still on standard exhaust... Great bikes and my 3 had different tunes n parts and we're all great in their own way... Your also on the later m97 gearbox... About 30-40k on each one...👍 Great bikes...

Try a John Gemi chip transformed my old 99 1100gs power wise without messing up the fuel consumption .

Would this be the photo?

Try posting your picture again as it does not show up. Think these bikes fly or at least putts along under the radar of most people.

Lovely, they’re really nice old bikes. Modern enough to ride well but still retain a bit of character, mines done 81k miles and I’ve owned it 11 years.

Unfortunately time and tides means I’ll be buying something lower and lighter in the very near future so you can expect to see lots of nice stuff coming up for sale soon as I return it to standard.

It's a lovely bike. I've followed it for miles.

Hope you enjoy it as much as the previous owner. :thumb2

That is a very fine motorcycle indeed. GREAT bikes. Better than an 1150, dare I say it ...? And I love my 1150.

Thanks Tufty, it is a grand old bike that is just getting it's rims cleaned up and new tyres at the moment. Will spend some time on it this winter in the shed as there is some engine corrosion that I want to deal with but it is a great runner. Andy tells me you and I have an old Triumph affliction in common as well as the BMW curse! would like to meet up at some point and exchange tales

Hi Bill, Tetley ya man re Triumph

Enjoy it Bill, once I’m back in UK we’ll have to have a ride out on our mighty steeds😎. 👯*♂️
