thanks for the comments, the bikes a gem, original and in great condition a credit to the previous owners. didnt want to get of when the ride came to an end.

When I sold it to Devon it had the original panniers and frames on it. Wonder why they were removed?

Lovely bike, bit of an idiot to sell it really. To be fair, Devon did offer it back to me but I now have Bertha (R100GS) and I'm spending time and money on R65 special so had to pass on buying it back.:(

It is very original. Devon did spend time and money making it much better than when he first got it from me. I fitted new gearbox to it as it had been badly serviced in Jersey by idiot mechanic but it is definitely 100% now.

Depreciation proof biking at its very best.:thumby:

I'm sure you will get many great memorable rides with it.

Don't forget to bring it back Devon way next June for Airhead Wee kend.

thank for the info crapaud, to be fair to devon he did originally offer the bike with the panniers. but i dithered about and i think he decided to hold on to them for one of his gs's .
not a problem as the civil one is sorting me a set!
do you have any other info on the bike as i would really like to find out a bit more of its history.
and yes i would like to get down for an air head week end if thats ok!

A bit of history?

Well! England Kev and myself tore it to pieces once.. I hope we put it back together properly as there were a lot of bits left over when we'd done :D

Well, it doesn't seem any the worse for it! And someone's fitted a back wheel to it since you've been playing with it!

We fitted the gearbox at 6 in the morning while most of the other folks were asleep. I reckon Kenny was only sneaking around at that time on the off chance he cold pilfer something - you know what these scallys are like :D

It was a pleasure to meet you Jonny and it's nice to see you're enjoying the bike :beerjug:

Cracking bike

Seen this one - when owned by both of the above and know myself how well these bikes ride!

Enjoy it and get some miles under your belt. Nice picture as well.
