New to the area

Hi all

New to the area, but not the forum.

Now commuting from Shepton to Bristol on the 1100GS on a daily basis - with secure parking at the office

Looking for somewhere reasonably priced to buy oils & get tyres - any suggestions?

Welcome to the area if you are in the Shepton area theres a good show there this weekend at the show ground. The Classic bike show its worth a look.
For oil if you come thruo Frome then out to Trowbridge on the A361 just as you get to Southwick theres a small industrial estate on the left up there is Rock Oil supplyer that is very good priced

I live 5 minutes up the road in Wells, I use a little garage in Croscombe here http://www.croscombe-mill.co.uk/ they are a little old school but I like that. They have been looking after my F650 for a year and I have been very pleased with the service. They have sorted Tyres and odds and sods for me, plus they have a useful selection of bits in the shop there.

Kevin is the guy who runs it.

Ok, service done. Time to visit Furlong tyres and sort out some new rubber. 3000 miles in 3 months has got through the tourances.

What do you guys recommend on local roads (tyre wise that is!)?

Not sure if it makes much of difference but I am using Continental TKC 80s, and am very happy with them, most of the road around here are in a poor state of repair after the snow in December.

What kind of mileage do you get out of the rear on the contis?

I reckon about 5000 but I am running them on a F650 Gs so less weight. less power, less wear I guess.
