new tyres for a 1300 GSA

I personally didn't like the Next 2 in the wet. I went with the Anakee ADV2 instead... absolutely love them, tons of grip in the wet and they perform fantastic in the dry.

shows we all respond to tyres differently - i'm the complete opposite - i won't have another set of those anakee "field tyres" no chance

100% and this is something I do call out on the video actually.

Like I said, my own experience and opinion.

Bridgestone A41, grip well wet or dry, deep tread, loads of meat on them, multi compound, do not square off, last well. I love 'em

I have come to really trust the A41s, not least because on a recent trip over the Susten Pass in shitty wet conditions they were never sketchy unlike some in the group who had moments. Wet or dry, they have performed.

I fitted Bridgestone T33’s to my 1300GSA from new. 2k miles done so far, in wet and dry conditions, solo and 2 up. All I can say is WOW.
With no off road requirements, Gary from Bridgestone advised me on my choice and he was bang on with his recommendation. I had A41’s on previous 1200 and 1250 GSA’s which I loved, these T33’s are shaping up to be even better.
No signs of wear or squaring off at this relatively early stage.

Coming to the end of my second set of Tourance Next 2 now the bike is on 15k miles and I have found them to be excellent rain (and we get a lot in the north of England) or shine, never ever had a single issue with the performance or grip, wet or dry. They just grip regardless. Will probably go for same again.

I put Road 6s on my 1250GS and found them superb, very sporty. My GSA came with Next 2s. My plan was to swap out to Road 6s, but I've been pleasantly surprised by the Next 2s and they seem to be lasting longer than the Road 6s on my heavier 1300GSA vs. 1250GS. Not sure about next time round now.

Anyone gone from Next 2s to Road 6s?

I've used Road 6s and the previous derivatives, on previous GSAs. They were a great tyre but, maybe I was unlucky, they seemed to be very prone to picking up nails, and on one occasion a sharp flint, resulting in punctures. More recently I've been using Conti Trail Attacks, so when the Adventure 2s, that came on my R1300GSA, where due to be replaced I again went for Conti TA3s. Just spent the weekend hooning round North Yorkshire and they performed brilliantly.

Likewise, I had Pilot Road 5 and 6 for about 4 years, and had four or five punctures in that time. I've only had two others in the remaining 22 years I've been riding.

Hadn't thought about it before, but both of my recent punctures were Road 6s. One a screw and one flint deep in the groove. Maybe they are prone to it. The only other puncture I can recall was self inflicted, pinched the brand new inner tube when changing tyres.

The thing I love about the Road 6 is it's rapid response to handlebar input. The Next 2 seems pretty good in that respect, but probably not as nimble as the Road 6.

Have had CTA3's on my 1250 GSA for past 30,000 miles and have now done 10,000 miles on the same for my 1300GSA, lot's of threads on here about them, Best tyres IMHO.
