New water proof zip from Gore Tex

All zips of this sort, not just the Gore ones, have to be lubed. It's not peculiar to them. The Spidi suit I had was the same and similarly rubbish too by the sounds if it.

For me personally, a more robust simpler even if less waterproof zip would be better.

I have replaced the zip pull with a key ring ring, and it works fine but on a suit costing what klim charge I think I am entitled to whinge a bit if it does not work first time all the time and without breaking.

why dont they just use a zip for the main section then a zip for the storm flap instead of those stupid feckin poppers:blast
then there will be no need at all for these fancy zips that are nothing more that a glorified ziplock freezer bag closure;)

I've got a waterproof zip that needs silicon lube on a BMW bag, it's a nuisance to have to remember to put the stuff on, but it is most certainly waterproof, in fact it's damn near air-tight.

But the Gore zip might be a different thing?

How about a proper zip to take the load with a storm flap incorporating a waterproof zip to keep the elements out?

There are better ways of waterproofing the waist closure of trousers than depending on a zip. The widely used waterproof panel that folds back on itself behind a standard zip seems to work fine.
