newbie GS thoughts

Agreed, theres been many a time a tin-top has deserved a full 10 second blast of 'satanic decibel hatred' from me . . . only to find that instead i've given them a full 6 seconds of left indicator followed by a 4 burst of headlight.
afetr that i'm so embarressed at my stupidity i have usually forgotten about the 'moment' and skulked on by with my head down.
BTW lancashire/ Manc drivers take the biscuit for the nations worst (Bolton in particular)

It's just down to muscle memory. It's in the same places as the cancel switch, just on the other side. You tend to find all the buttons that you don't use often are hard to find.

well for years ive riden all bikes and now own a 07 busa 1998 bandit streetfighter 1200 supere tenere

a few months back i bought a 1200 gs 06 im 5.6 tall med build massive cock lol

anyway got on the gs road it for a few mile and thought o shite have i made a mistake buying this peace of shite
since then bought full exhaust system now just bought w s motec full luggage system

very comftable weight no probs not as grunty as bandit or busa but im injoying it loads

so bear with it mate give time and once youve got a few miles under your belt you wont want to change

plus im getting older lol

I really don't get all the moaning about the indicators FFS. :nenau They are a piece of piss to master, unless you're a complete retard.:rob

I find the indicators fine - and no problem switching with my Jap bikes -
the BMW ones are better though :D

With regard to your ABS lights - get your dealer to do a check - I had my lights come on mid ride the other week & had to hve the rear ABS sensor changed under warranty.

Well I have had my GS for 4 months now and to be honest not managed many miles (about 1000), mostly because the weather has been very poor in April abd early May. I thought I would just give a resume of my thoughts and problems since I have had it.

....

Overall I like the bike but think I should probably have gone for an 800 GS its lighter and has about the same performance and probably without that crappy ABS system.

So why not just put it back in the box ... :blast

I picked my 2008 GSA up two and a half weeks ago done just shy of 3000 miles of pleasure riding including a three day solo trip to the highands up there in Scotland. Again I came from sports bikes but the GSA rocks good speed, good handling (even when fully loaded) abs works a treat too after I had to grab a handful last night, getting about 43mpg out of it too which again is brill.

Only minor niggle is that the gear box is slightly clunky but tbh if it doesn't eat its self like my Kawasaki z1000 did then I'm fine

Nothing wrong with the indicator system it is more intuitive, easier to reach especially if you have small hands, far better than the jap system which unfortunately BMW seem to be adopting, as bike jurno's keep moaning about the BMW system (just because they are incapable of thinking things though and can't see beyond the sheep mentality)
totally agree with the indicators being right. More natural and easier with small gloved hands.
